HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:


ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Waihaorunga Rabbit District Order 1958.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  2. The boundaries of the Waihaorunga Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 1st day of June 1949,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIHAORUNGA RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the County of Waimate, Canterbury Land District, containing 96,780 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of Deep Creek - Kurow via Waimate Main Highway No. 120 and a road forming the eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 19341, 18254, 18263, and 19384, Block I, Waitaki Survey District; thence northerly generally along that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 19384; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary and the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Rural Section 27498 to the north-eastern boundary of Run 249; thence north-westerly generally along that boundary to the westernmost corner of Rural Section 32523, and continuing north-westerly along the production of that boundary to the summit of the Hunters Hills (near Prominent Rock); thence northerly generally along the summit of the Hunters Hills to the southern boundary of Run 47B, Block VIII, Waihao Survey District; thence northerly generally to and along the eastern boundaries of Run 47B and 47A to the middle of the Otaio River; thence westerly generally along the northern boundary of Run 47A aforesaid and its production to the middle of the north branch of the Waihao River; thence south-westerly generally along the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section 31752, Block XIV, Nimrod Survey District; thence south-westerly generally to and along that boundary and the northern and western boundaries of that section to and along the northern boundaries of Rural Section 36391 and Run 234A to the western boundary of the said Run 234A; thence southerly and easterly generally along the western and southern boundaries of Run 234A to a road passing through Run 234B; thence southerly generally along that road to and along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Rural Section 33900 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the south side of Meyers Pass Road; thence easterly generally along that roadside to the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 36394; thence south-westerly generally along that boundary and the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 36395 to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 3451; thence south-easterly generally along that boundary and the south-western side of a road forming that boundary to the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 3, D.P. 3451; thence

casterly generally along the road forming the northern boundary of Section 1, Block I, Elephant Hill Survey District and Rural Section 28739, and Zig-Zag Road to Buchanan Road; thence south-easterly along Buchanans Road and Serpentine Valley Road to and easterly along the Deep Creek - Kurow via Waimate Main Highway No. 120 to the right bank of the Waihao River; thence south-easterly along the right bank of that river to and along the road passing through Rural Sections 17445 and 17868 and forming the southern boundary of Rural Section 21854, to and northerly along the road forming the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section and the road forming the western boundary of Kapua Settlement to and easterly along Deep Creek - Kurow via Waimate Main Highway No. 120 to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF THE RANGITATA RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Counties of Geraldine and Ashburton and the Borough of Geraldine, containing 132,700 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in line with the middle of Macaulays Road, Block IV, Arohenua Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly generally to and along the middle lines of that road, Rise Road, Christchurch-Timaru State Highway No. 58, Hinds-Winchester via Arundel Main Highway No. 660, Tipladys Road, Geraldine-Fairlie Main Highway No. 116, Pyes Road, Youngs Road, a road forming the northern boundaries of Rural Sections 18568 and 12840, Guildfords Road, Martins Road, and Taylors Road to the middle of Sercombes Road; thence easterly along the middle of that road to the middle of Woodbury Road; thence north-westerly generally along the middle lines of that road, Waihi Gorge Road and Ribys Road and the production of the last-mentioned road to the middle of the Waihi River; thence south-easterly along the middle of that river to a point in line with the middle of a road forming the western boundary of Section 10, Tripp Settlement; thence north-easterly generally to and along the middle lines of that road, Clarks Road, and Yates Road to the middle of Orari Gorge Road; thence northerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Tripp Settlement; thence north-easterly generally to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Orari River; thence north-westerly generally along the middle of that river to a point due west of the southernmost corner of Run 4A, Block III, Orari Survey District; thence due east to the middle of Orari Gorge Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Rural Section 37454; thence north-easterly along a right line to the intersection of the boundaries of the said Rural Section 37454; thence easterly along the middle of the road forming the northern boundary of Rural Section 37454 to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Run 4B; thence northerly generally to and along that boundary and the eastern boundary of Run 4C and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of a road forming the northern boundaries of Rural Sections 32893, 30933, and 7159; thence easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Reserve 2276 (Peel Forest Park); thence northerly and westerly to and along the eastern and northern boundaries of the said reserve and the northern boundary of part Rural Section 3085 to the western boundary of Reserve 4019; thence northerly along that boundary to the southern boundary of Reserve 4203; thence easterly generally along the southern boundary of that reserve, the western and southern boundary of Reserve 4202, the western and southern boundary of Reserve 3797, the western boundary of Reserve 4218, and again along the southern boundaries of Reserve 3797 to the south-eastern corner of that reserve; thence along a right line to the
