Amending Declaration of Land, Nelson Acclimatisation District, as a Wildlife Refuge

COBHAM, Governor-General

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrant published in Gazette, 1 November 1951, Volume 3, page 1641, notifying and declaring certain areas to be sanctuaries under the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921–22, in so far as it relates to the Nelson Acclimatisation District and to only the extent appearing in the First Schedule hereto; and I hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Second Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge for the purposes of the Wildlife Act 1953.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREA REVOKED AS SANCTUARY UNDER THE ANIMALS PROTECTION AND GAME ACT 1921–22

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, Takaka County, containing 87 acres, more or less, and being part Section 121, Block 3, Takaka Survey District, contained in certificate of title, Volume 66, folio 289, limited as to parcels.

SECOND SCHEDULE

AREA DECLARED TO BE A WILDLIFE REFUGE UNDER THE WILDLIFE ACT 1953

Nelson Land District—Golden Bay County

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, Golden Bay County, containing by admeasurement 398 acres 0 roods 22 perches, more or less, and being parts of Section 110, Square 11, Section 116A and part Section 116, Takaka District, situated in Block X, Waitapu Survey District, and part of Section 121, Takaka District, situated in Block III, Takaka Survey District, and being the whole of the land described in certificate of title, Volume 32, folio 70; Volume 38, folio 192; Volume 74, folio 2 (limited as to parcels); and Volume 66, folio 289 (limited as to parcels), Nelson Land Registry. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked I.A. 52/210 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Revoking Declaration of Land, Southland Acclimatisation District, as a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrant published in Gazette, 2 April 1958, Volume 1, page 414, relating to the Southland Acclimatisation District notifying and declaring certain areas to be wildlife refuges for the purposes of the Wildlife Act 1953 to the extent appearing in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

  1. Land at Jacob’s River Hundred: Firstly, all that area of land containing by estimation 77 acres, more or less, being parts Sections 42 and 43, and Closed Road, Block VII, Jacob’s River Hundred, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 44, Block VII, Jacob’s River Hundred, on the left bank of the Aparima River; thence south-easterly by the north-eastern boundary of the said Section 44 to the northern boundary of Lot 1 on plan numbered 3775 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill; thence easterly and southerly by the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Lot 1 to Fosters Main Highway; thence easterly and northerly by Fosters Main Highway and the Gropers Bush - Waimatuku Main Highway to a point in line with the northern boundary of Lot 1 on plan numbered 3830 deposited as aforesaid; thence easterly across the said Gropers Bush - Waimatuku Main Highway and along the northern boundary of the said Lot 1 to the western boundary of part Section 42, Block VII, aforesaid (post office site); thence northerly, easterly, and southerly along the western, northern, and eastern boundaries of the said part Section 42 to the Gropers Bush - Waimatuku Main Highway; thence easterly along the said main highway to the Wairio Branch Railway; thence northerly along the western boundary of the said railway to a fence line 7 chains south of the intersection of the south-western boundary of the part of Section 42, Block VII, aforesaid, shown on Land Transfer Plan No. 216 lodged in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill, and the western side of the said railway;

thence westerly along the said fence line and that line produced to the left bank of the Aparima River; thence south westerly by the left bank of the said river to the point of commencement. Parts certificates of title, Volume 26, folio 288, and Volume 168, folio 209. Coloured yellow on plan. Secondly, part Section 43, Block VII, Jacob’s River Hundred Area, 2 acres, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 135, folio 141. Coloured blue on plan. As shown on plan numbered I.A. 52/99 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above.

Revoking Declaration of Land, Feilding and District Acclimatisation District, Now Wellington Acclimatisation District, as a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrant published in Gazette, 2 February 1929, Volume 1, page 446, relating to the Feilding and District Acclimatisation District notifying and declaring certain areas to be sanctuaries for the purpose of the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921–22, to the extent appearing in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

A certain area near Pohangina: All that area in the Wellington Land District being Sections numbered 48, 61, 62, and Part 2 of Section 46, Block VII, Pohangina Survey District.

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
