HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD PURPOSES
UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT 1928
Notice is hereby given that the Chairman, Councillors, and
Inhabitants of the County of Horowhenua require to take
the lands described in the Schedule hereto. The lands are
required for the purpose of a public work, namely, for a road.
Notice is hereby given that a plan of the said lands is open
for inspection at the offices of the Horowhenua County
Council, Bath Street, Levin. All persons affected by such
taking are hereby required to set forth in writing any well
grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the
taking of such lands and to send such writing within forty
(40) days from the first publication of this notice to the
County Clerk at the Council Chambers, Bath Street, Levin.

The said pieces of land being situate in Block IV, Moutere
Survey District and in the County of Horowhenua and being
delineated on the plan lodged with the Chief Surveyor at
Wellington under No. S.O. 23819, and thereon coloured as
above mentioned.

MANIOTOTO COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Bridges Loan 1958, £30,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Maniototo County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of £30,000 authorised to be raised by the Maniototo
County Council under the above-mentioned Act for meeting
the Council’s share of the cost of reconstructing various
bridges, the Maniototo County Council hereby makes a special
rate of one-ninth of a penny (1/9d.) upon the rateable value
of all rateable property of the County of Maniototo; and that
the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of the loan, and be payable half yearly on the 15th
day of August and the 15th day of February in each and
every year during the currency of the loan, for a period of
twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the
Maniototo County Council held on the 31st day of October
1958.

KOWAI COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Amberley Domain Pavilion Loan 1958 of £2,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Kowai County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
loan of £2,000 authorised to be raised by the Kowai County
Council under the above-mentioned Act for erecting a
pavilion on the Amberley Domain, the said Kowhai County
Council hereby makes a special rate of two hundred and
twenty-six ten-thousandths of a penny (226/10,000d.) in
the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital
value) of all rateable property of the North and Amberley
ridings of the whole of the North and Amberley Ridings of
the County of Kowai; and that the special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and
be payable half yearly on the 24th day of October and the
4th day of April in each and every year during the currency
of the loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.”

MURCHISON COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Murchison County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of securing the annual charges on a
loan of £18,000 authorised to be raised by the Murchison
County Council under the above-named Act for the rural
reticulation of the Tutaki Valley, the said Murchison County
Council hereby makes a special security rate of 3d. (threepence) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable
property in the special area as set out in the Gazette, 1920,
page 191, and the Gazette, No. 66, page 1709, dated 16
October 1952. The special security rate which is not expected
to be collected, will be an annual-recurring security rate during
the currency of the loan.”
Certified a true and correct copy of the resolution of the
Council passed at a special meeting held in the Murchison
County Chambers on 25 September 1958, at 8 p.m.

BOROUGH OF OHAKUNE
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Depot Loan 1957
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act 1926, the Ohakune Borough Council resolved as follows
at a meeting held on 28 October 1958.
“That, pursuant to section 47 of the Local Authorities
Loans Act 1956 and for the purpose of providing interest and
other charges on a loan of £2,000 authorised to be raised for
the construction of a works depot, the Ohakune Borough
Council hereby makes, levies, appropriates, and pledges a
special rate of 1·78d. (one decimal seven eight pence) in
the pound on the rateable value on the basis of unimproved
value of all rateable property in the Borough of Ohakune;
and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate
during the currency of the loan and shall be payable yearly
on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of 15 years, or until
such loan is fully paid off.”

WANGANUI-RANGITIKEI ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board hereby resolves:
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest and repayment charges and all other expenses on the
Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board’s Development
Loan 1958, £200,000, to be raised pursuant to the abovementioned authority, the said Board hereby makes and levies
a special rate of one-eleventh part of one penny (1/11d.) in
the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital
value) of all the rateable property in the Wanganui-Rangitikei
Electric Power District; and that such special rate shall be
an annually recurring rate during the currency of the aforesaid loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April
in each and every year during the currency of the loan, to be
raised for a period of 20 years.”

OAKURA WATER SUPPLY AREA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Loan 1958, £20,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Taranaki County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of £20,000 authorised to be raised by the Taranaki
County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the
vision of a water supply scheme for the Oakura Water
Supply Area, the said Taranaki County Council hereby makes
a special rate of five decimal two four pence in the pound
upon the rateable value of all rateable property. of the
Oakura Water Supply Area comprising the Oakura County
Town; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly
on the 4th day of August in each and every year during the
currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the
loan is fully paid off.”
