Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land for a Public School in the Borough of Hampden

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for a public school; and notice is hereby given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Hampden and is there open for inspection and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land in the Otago Land District containing 1 rood, situated in the Borough of Hampden, Otago R.D., being vacant section fronting Durham Street and surrounded on all sides by the school, and being also Lot 14, Block XXXII, Town of Hampden; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 157540 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Christchurch Regional Planning Authority—Extension of Region

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, the Minister of Works hereby gives notice:

  1. That approval is given to—
    (a) The resolution made by the Kaiapoi Borough Council on the 10th day of August 1958 that its district be added to the Christchurch region for the purpose of having a regional planning scheme include that district.
    (b) The resolution made by the Eyre County Council on the 11th day of August 1958 that part of its district be added to the Christchurch region for the purpose of having a regional planning scheme include that part of its district.
    (c) The resolution made by the Christchurch Regional Planning Authority on the 17th day of June 1958 that the whole of the Borough of Kaiapoi and part of the County of Eyre be added to the Christchurch region for the purpose of having a regional planning scheme include those areas.

  2. That the area to be dealt with in the regional planning scheme for Christchurch as defined in the notice published in Gazette, 8 March 1956, Volume I, page 316, is extended to include the additional areas defined in the First Schedule hereto and accordingly the area now comprised in the region is defined in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREA TO BE ADDED TO THE CHRISTCHURCH REGION

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, being the whole of the Borough of Kaiapoi as described in Gazette, 1951, page 950; also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, County of Eyre, Eyreton Riding, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the northern boundary of the Christchurch Regional Planning Scheme Area as described in Gazette, 1956, page 316, and the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 10482, Block VI, Christchurch Survey District; thence northerly and westerly along the eastern and northern boundaries of the said Lot 1 to a point in line with the middle of a road which forms the eastern boundary of Rural Section 2271; thence north-easterly to and along the middle of that road to the middle of South Island Road; thence westerly and north-westerly along the middle of that road and of Storers Road and the production of the last-mentioned middle line to the middle of the Waimakariri River; thence north-easterly along the middle of that river to a point in line with the middle of Mabers Road; thence north-westerly to and along that road to the middle of the north branch of the Waimakariri River; thence north-easterly generally along the middle of the north branch of that river to a point in line with the middle of Tuahiwi Revells Road; thence northerly along that line to the left bank of the aforesaid river, being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Kaiapoi aforesaid; thence south-easterly generally along the general south-western boundary of the said borough to the southern boundary of the Rangiora County as described in Gazette, 1951, page 950; thence south-easterly generally along that boundary to the northern boundary of the Christchurch Regional Planning Scheme Area aforesaid; thence south-westerly generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

REDEFINITION OF THE CHRISTCHURCH REGION

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District being:

  1. The whole of the City of Christchurch as described in Gazette, 1955, pages 1094 to 1096.
  2. The whole of the Borough of Riccarton as described in Gazette, 1932, page 555.
  3. The whole of the County of Waimairi as described in Gazette, 1953, page 1991.
  4. The whole of the County of Heathcote as described in Gazette, 1955, page 1096.
  5. The whole of the Yaldhurst, Islington, Hornby, Sockburn, and Prebbleton Ridings of Paparua County as described in Gazette, 1953, page 1275, together with that part of the Templeton Riding of Paparua County situated to the north-east of a line along the middle of Dawsons and Hamptons Roads.
  6. The whole of the No. 1 Riding of Halswell County as described in Gazette, 1955, page 1576, together with that part of the No. 2 Riding of Halswell County situated to the north of a line along the middle of Hoon Hay Valley Road, from Cashmere Road to and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 11817, and its production to the eastern side of Worsleys Road.
  7. The whole of the Borough of Kaiapoi as described in Gazette, 1951, page 950.
  8. That part of the Eyreton Riding of Eyre County as described in the First Schedule hereto.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work at Titahi Bay and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 10th day of November 1958.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared Crown land: 1 rood 39·83 perches.

Being Railway land in Proclamation 5922, being Section 163, Porirua District.

Situated in Block XI, Paekakariki Survey District, Makara County. (S.O. 23898.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 15085 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
