Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Limited Speed Zone Declared

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the portion of road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

The Teddington - Port Levy Main Highway No. 622 (from a point 3 chains north of its junction with the southern end of Old Purau Road to a point 75 chains north-east of the said junction).

The portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Rangitikei County—

That portion of the Waiouru-Turangi State Highway No. 6 at Waiouru from its junction with the Raetihi-Waiouru State Highway No. 50 to a point 21 chains north of the said junction and that portion of the Waiouru-Bulls State Highway No. 29 at Waiouru from its junction with the Raetihi-Waiouru State Highway No. 50 to a point 27 chains south-east of the said junction.

  1. That Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936* dated the 24th day of November 1944 which relates to an area at Westshore in Hawke’s Bay County is hereby revoked.

  2. The portion of road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Hawke’s Bay County—

That portion of the Gisborne-Napier via Hangaroa State Highway No. 25 at Westshore from its junction with Meaneene Quay to a point 20 chains north of its junction with the access road to Westshore Aerodrome.

  1. The portions of roads specified in the First Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  2. The portion of road specified in the Second Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SITUATED within Springs and Paparua Counties in Lincoln Township—

Christchurch - Selwyn Huts via Lincoln Main Highway No. 188 (from a point 4 chains west of Town Belt West to its junction with the West Melton - Lincoln Main Highway No. 633).

West Melton - Lincoln Main Highway No. 633 (from its junction with the Christchurch - Selwyn Huts via Lincoln Main Highway No. 188 to a point 5 chains north-west of its junction with James Street).

SITUATED within Springs and Paparua Counties in Lincoln Township—

Pursuant to subclause (3) of regulation 52 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes the approval of the firm described in the Schedule hereto to issue warrants of fitness for motor vehicles.

Time and Place of Election by Fire Insurance Companies to Fill an Extraordinary Vacancy on the Fire Board for the Dunedin Metropolitan United Urban Fire District

Pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on Thursday, 27 November 1958, as the time, and the offices of the Otago and Southland Fire and Accident Underwriters’ Association, corner Jetty and Crawford Streets, Dunedin, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of the fire insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect a member on the Fire Board for the Dunedin Metropolitan United Urban Fire District.
