Part land in Proclamation S. 112025 and all land in Proclamation S. 117278, Auckland Land Registry.

Declaring an Area in the Rotorua Acclimatisation District to be a Wildlife Refuge

COBHAM, Governor-General

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge in the Rotorua Acclimatisation District for the purpose of the Wildlife Act 1953.


SCHEDULE

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT, OPOTIKI COUNTY

THOSE areas of Crown land in Block VII, Whakatane Survey District being islands in the Ohiwa Harbour and described as follows:

Firstly: An island shown on New Zealand Mosaic Map series N. 69/8 (Ohiwa) and N. 78/2 (Papanui) the approximate centre for which the map reference is 582,521. Area: 35 acres, more or less.

Secondly: The islands on New Zealand Mosaic Map series as shown on N. 78/2 (Papanui) and which lie within a radius of approximately 20 chains of map reference 567,190. Area: 13 acres, more or less.

As the same are more particularly shown on the plan marked I.A. 52/381 and deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Amending Declaration of Land—Southland Acclimatisation District as a Wildlife Refuge

COBHAM, Governor-General

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrant published in Gazette, 21 February 1929, Vol. 1, page 450, notifying and declaring certain areas to be sanctuaries under the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921-22 insofar as it relates to the Southland Acclimatisation District and to only the extent appearing in the First Schedule hereto, and I hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Second Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge for the purposes of the Wildlife Act 1953.


FIRST SCHEDULE

AREA REVOKED AS SANCTUARY UNDER THE ANIMALS PROTECTION AND GAME ACT 1921-22

CERTAIN land at Waikiwi: All that area in the Southland Land District comprising Sections 1, 27, 28, 29, 31, and 32, and part Sections 2, 3, and 30, Block IV, Invercargill Hundred, the properties of Messrs R. A. Anderson, W. D. Hunt, and R. Russell.


SECOND SCHEDULE

AREA DECLARED TO BE A WILDLIFE REFUGE UNDER THE WILDLIFE ACT 1953—SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in Block IV, Invercargill Hundred, containing 425 acres, more or less, commencing at the junction of the Queenstown-Invercargill State Highway, and Myross Bush Road, National Grid Reference 347,072, grid square S. 22; proceeding northerly along the eastern side of the said State highway to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4637; thence easterly and northerly to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of the said Lot 1, the eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 4510 and Lots 3, 2, and 1, D.P. 3974, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of part Lot 4, D.P. 2145, to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of the said part Lot 4, across a public road and along the eastern boundaries of part Lot 2, D.P. 2145 and part Section 27, to the southern boundary of Block IX, Invercargill Hundred; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the said Block IX, to the western boundary of Section 31; thence southerly generally along the western boundary of the said Section 31, the north-western, western and southern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 1161, and again along the western boundary of the said Section 31, to the northern side of Myross Bush Road; thence westerly along the northern side of Myross Bush Road to the point of commencement.

All the land in certificates of title, Volume 176, folio 26, Volume 176, folio 27, and Volume 187, folio 238, and part of the land in certificate of title, Volume 187, folio 239.

As shown on the plan marked I.A. 52/390 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Declaring an Area in the Whangarei Acclimatisation District to be a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge in the Whangarei Acclimatisation District for the purpose of the Wildlife Act 1953.


SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in Blocks VII and XI, Ruakaka Survey District, being those portions of the Ruakaka River and estuary below mean high-water mark extending from the bridge on the Waipu-Marsden Point Road in the north, to the north-western corner of Lot 4, D.P. 23269, being Part Allotments 78 and 80, Ruakaka Parish, in the south.

Also all that area in Block XI, Ruakaka Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of Allotment 139, Ruakaka Parish (Recreation Reserve) on the mean high-water mark of the Ruakaka River and proceeding due east along a right line to the mean high-water mark of Bream Bay; thence southerly and westerly generally along the mean high-water mark of Bream Bay and the Ruakaka River to the point of commencement.

Also all that area in Block XI, Ruakaka Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at Peg XIII in Allotment 93, Ruakaka Parish, as shown on S.O. Plan 21423 and proceeding due north for approximately 50 links to the mean high-water mark in the first bend of the southern shore of the Ruakaka River; thence north-easterly and southerly generally along the mean high-water mark of Ruakaka River and Bream Bay to a point due east of Peg XIII aforesaid; thence westerly along a right line to the point of commencement.

Total area 206 acres, approximately, as shown on the plan marked I.A. No. 52/429 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon edged red.

PURSUANT to the Valuation of Land Act 1951, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs that the district valuation rolls for the districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be revised by the Valuer-General as at 31 October 1958.
