The Blackstone Rabbit District Order 1958 (Notice No. Ag. 6447)

Present:
THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Blackstone Rabbit District Order 1958.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
  2. The boundaries of the Blackstone Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 3rd day of February 1953,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE BLACKSTONE RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District and in the Counties of Maniototo and Vincent, containing 111,700 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Run 244G in Tiger Hill Survey District; thence north-westerly to and generally north-easterly up the centre of the Manuherikia River to the confluence of Hut Stream in St. Bathans Survey District; thence generally north-easterly up the centre of Hut Stream to its source and north-easterly to the north-western boundary of Run 227B on the summit of the Hawkdun Range; thence generally south-easterly along the summit of the Hawkdun Range through Runs 227B, 227C, and 227D to Mount Ida; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Run 227D to the Palmerston-Alexandra State Highway; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of that highway to its junction with the Idaburn-Omakau Main Highway at Trig. B, Idaburn Survey District; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that highway to the south-western boundary of Block XV, Blackstone Survey District; thence north-westerly along that boundary to the Poolburn-Auripo Road; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that road and of Block III, Poolburn Survey District, to and north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Block XI, Poolburn Survey District, to its northern corner; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Blocks XVII, XVI, and XV, Tiger Hill Survey District, to the southern corner of that Block XV; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of that Block XV, to the south-eastern boundary of part Section 4, Block XIV, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary to and across a road and south-easterly and westerly along the north-eastern and southern boundaries of Run 220E and north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Run 220F to its westernmost corner; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that run, to and across a road; thence westerly and north-easterly along the southern and north-western boundaries of Section 12, Block XIX, Tiger Hill Survey District, and south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of that Section 12 and part Section 4, Block XIV, to the south-western corner of Section 11, Block XV, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Sections 11 and 10, Block XV, and Section 7, Block XVI, Tiger Hill Survey District, to the southern boundary of Block II, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence westerly along that boundary to the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Tuapeka Rabbit District Order 1958.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
  2. The boundaries of the Tuapeka Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 30th day of May 1956,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE TUAPEKA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District and Tuapeka and Bruce Counties containing approximately 105,100 acres, bounded by a line commencing at the centre of the road bridge over the Clutha River at Beaumont; thence generally southerly down the centre of the Clutha River to the confluence of the Crook Burn; thence north-easterly up the centre of the Crook Burn to the Tuapeka Mouth-Newton Road; thence generally north-easterly along the Tuapeka Mouth-Newton Road to the Greenfield-Waitahuna via Polson’s Road; thence north-easterly along the Greenfield-Waitahuna via Polson’s Road to and along Robertson Road to Clarks Flat Road; thence generally south-easterly along Clarks Flat Road to and along the Waitahuna-Clarks Flat Road to and generally easterly along the Greenfield-Waitahuna via Polson’s Road to the railway crossing at Waitahuna; thence south-easterly along the Milton-Queenstown State Highway to the Waitahuna River, thence generally south-westerly down the centre of the Waitahuna River to its confluence with Stuart Creek; thence generally south-easterly up the centre of Stuart Creek to the north-western corner of Lot 9, D.P. 1938; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of that Lot 9 to the south-eastern boundary of Waitahuna East Survey District; thence generally north-easterly along that boundary to Trig. Q, Round Hill; thence north-easterly along the road on the south-eastern boundary of Section 28 and generally northerly along the eastern boundaries of that Section 28 and Section 25, Block VII, Table Hill Survey District, to and easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 24, 23, and 11, Block VII, to the south-western corner of Section 16, Block XI, Table Hill Survey District; thence northerly along the western boundary of that Section 16 to and north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 11, 12, 13, and 14, and their production to the Waitahuna River; thence down the centre of that river to the confluence of German Creek; thence generally north-westerly up the centre of that Creek and its branch to the southern boundary of Section 34, Block V, Tuapeka East Survey District; thence westerly to and generally north-westerly along the road through that Section 34 to and along Matheson Road through Sections 45 and 49, Block X, to the Lawrence-Waipori Road; thence north-westerly along that road to and along the north-western boundary of Section 33, Block X, easterly along the northern boundary of that Section 33 to and northerly along the western boundary of Section 44 and westerly and north-westerly along the southern and south-western boundaries of Section 51, Block X, to the southern boundary of Block XIII, Tuapeka East Survey District; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of that block, to and along the northern boundaries of Sections 53 and 52, Block XVIII, to the north-western corner of that Section 52; thence north-westerly along a straight line to the south-eastern corner of Section 39, Block XVIII; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of Section 39 and south-westerly and westerly along the north-western boundaries of Sections 39 and 56 and the northern boundary of Section 37 to the Tuapeka River; thence southerly down the centre of the Tuapeka River to the Milton-Queenstown State Highway; thence north-westerly along the centre of that highway to the point of commencement.

Authorising Horace George Wells, of Havelock, Pelorus Sound, Sheep Farmer, to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to Horace George Wells, of Havelock, Pelorus Sound, sheep farmer (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), a licence, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from an unnamed stream (hereinafter referred to as the said stream) situated in Section 1 of 2, Block VII, Orieri Survey District, in the County of Sounds, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 1 cubic foot per second at any one time.
