Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be deemed to have been Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 2nd day of September 1958.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work at Feilding and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 29th day of September 1958.

Scheme of Control of the Onehunga Post-primary School

PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of the Onehunga Post-primary School being controlled in accordance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published in the Gazette of 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451: Provided that:

(a) Clause 7 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Council of the nearest borough within 5 miles of the school” were omitted, and the words “Onehunga Borough Council” were substituted therefor:

(b) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Such election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1929” were omitted, and the words “The first such election shall be held not later than the first week of the month of May in the year 1959, and such an election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1961” were substituted therefor:

(c) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if the clause set out in the Schedule hereto were inserted after clause 13:

(d) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1961:

(e) Clause 43 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “The secretary shall be insured under a fidelity bond for a sum of not less than five hundred pounds” were omitted.

SCHEDULE

CLAUSE TO BE READ AS PART OF STANDARD SCHEME

13A. (1) In every case where any member is to be elected by the members of the school committees of the schools to which paragraph (e) of clause 2 of the Onehunga Post-primary School Board of Governors Order 1958 applies, every such member shall be so elected by a postal ballot in a manner approved by the Director of Education.

(2) The first such election shall be held not later than the first week of the month of October in the year 1958, and such an election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1961 and in every alternate year thereafter, or as soon thereafter as may be convenient on a date to be fixed by the Board. For the purposes of the first such election, the District Superintendent of Education, Auckland, or a deputy appointed by him, shall be the returning officer, and for all subsequent elections the Secretary of the Board of Governors shall be the returning officer.

Limited Speed Zones Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the road and the portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SITUATED within Matakaoa County in Te Araroa Township—
Rata Street, Paikea Street (from Rata Street to 3 chains east of Matai Street), Pohutu Road (from Wiira Street to Rata Street).

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waitomo County—
The Mangapehi-Benneydale section of Ellis Road, Mangapehi (from a point 68 chains west of its junction with the Mangapehi-Waimiha Road to a point 44 chains west of the said junction).

The Hangatiki-Caves Main Highway No. 818, Waitomo (from a point 2 chains east of its junction with Fullertons Road to a point 30 chains west of the said junction).

Limited Speed Zone Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936 dated the 12th day of December 1938* which relates to an area adjacent to Cromwell Borough in Vincent County is hereby revoked.

  2. The portion of road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Vincent County—
That portion of the Milton-Queenstown State Highway No. 64 from the south-eastern boundary of Cromwell Borough to a point 48 chains south of the said boundary.
