Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work at Lyttelton and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule thereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 21st day of April 1958.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared Crown land: 26·7 perches.

Railway land being part Reserve 872.

Situated in the Borough of Lyttelton. (S.O. 9255.)

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 15207 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Government Railways Employees’ Sick Benefit Society

Pursuant to section 44A of the Government Railways Act 1949 (as enacted by section 2 of the Government Railways Amendment Act 1957), the Minister of Railways hereby fixes the 26th day of April 1958 as the date for the cessation of contributions to the Government Railways Employees’ Sick Benefit Society, and the 28th day of July 1958 as the date for the cessation of the liability of the Government Railways Employees’ Sick Benefit Society for the payment of sick pay to its members in respect of any period of sickness of any member which commences on or after that date.

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

The portion of road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

That portion of the Inangahua Junction-Greymouth State Highway No. 55 at Ikamatua from a point 30 chains south of its junction with Cobden Road to a point 3 chains north of Ikamatua School.

Limited Speed Zone Declared and Extending 30 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. So much of the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 30th day of October 1956* as relates to part of the Tirau-Wairakei State Highway No. 41 at Tokoroa in Matamata County is hereby revoked.

  2. The portion of road specified in the First Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  3. The portion of road specified in the Second Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.
