Crown Land Set Apart as Permanent State Forest Land

COBHAM, Governor-General

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 18 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forest land.

SCHEDULE

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY

ALL that area containing by estimation 14,630 acres, more or less, commencing at a point on the boundary of Fiordland National Park at National Grid Reference S. 12/576615; thence south-westerly generally along the watershed between Lake Monowai and the Hindley Burn and Lillburn and their western tributaries to the summit of the Kaherekoau Mountains forming the main watershed between Lake Monowai and Lake Hauroko; thence south-easterly generally along the watershed between the streams flowing into Lake Hauroko and the streams flowing into the Lillburn, to a point at National Grid Reference S. 12/536481; thence easterly along a right line to the said park boundary at National Grid Reference S. 12/582482; thence northerly along the said park boundary to the point of commencement.

Also all that area containing by estimation 12,470 acres, more or less, commencing at a point on the boundary of Fiordland National Park, at National Grid Reference S. 12/567464; thence due west by a right line to the watershed between Lake Hauroko and the northern tributaries of Waikoau River; thence south-westerly, north-westerly, and again south-westerly generally along the said watershed, to the said park boundary at National Grid Reference S. 12/455388; thence easterly and northerly along the said park boundary to the point of commencement.

Also all that area containing by estimation 600 acres, more or less, commencing at a point on the boundary of Fiordland National Park at National Grid Reference S. 12/330402; thence easterly along the said park boundary to the bush edge at National Grid Reference S. 12/350403; thence northerly, southerly, north-westerly, and south-easterly generally along the bush edge to the point of commencement.

As shown on plans Nos. 200/33 and 200/34 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 29th day of March 1958.

Land at Kaiapoi Taken for the Purposes of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway (Stewart’s Gully Deviation) and Previous Proclamation Revoked

COBHAM, Governor-General

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Proclamation dated the 7th day of December 1957, and published in Gazette, 12 December 1957, No. 91, page 2288, taking land at Kaiapoi for the purposes of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway (Stewart’s Gully Deviation), and hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway (Stewart’s Gully Deviation).

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 29·3 perches.
Being part Rural Section 468.
Situated in the Borough of Kaiapoi. (S.O. 9218.)
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 15007 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured sepia.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 3rd day of April 1958.

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway (Hamilton-Cambridge Branch), and that the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby taken for road diversions in connection therewith.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 2 roods 18·4 perches.
Being part road; coloured green, edged green.
Situated in Block V, Cambridge Survey District, Waikato County. (S.O. 38866; L.O. 15264.)

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Avondale-Onehunga-Southdown Railway.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 11·9 perches.
Being part Lot 5, D.P. 17592, being part Allotment 92, Titirangi Parish.
Situated in Block IV, Titirangi Survey District, Borough of Mount Roskill. (S.O. 38619.)
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 13258 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured sepia.

Amending Declaration of Land, West Coast Acclimatisation District, as a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrant published in the Gazette, 21 February 1929, page 445, notifying and declaring certain areas to be sanctuaries under the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921–22, in so far as that Warrant relates to the Grey Acclimatisation District, and hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge in the West Coast Acclimatisation District for the purposes of the Wildlife Act 1953.
