Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be deemed to have been Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 18th day of February 1958.
SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land in the Canterbury Land District containing 30·3 perches, situated in the Borough of Ashburton, Canterbury R.D., and being part Lot 7, D.P. 3127, being part Rural Section 6572, and being the whole of the land in Proclamation No. 445083, Canterbury Land Registry.

Town and Country Planning Act 1953—Stratford Borough: Notice of Extension of Period of Effectiveness of Refusals and Prohibitions
PURSUANT to subsection (6) of section 38 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, notice is hereby given that the period of effectiveness of each refusal or prohibition made by the Stratford Borough Council in the interests of the Stratford Borough district scheme, which refusal or prohibition, but for this notice, would expire between the date of public notification hereof and the 1st day of February 1959 inclusive, is hereby extended to the said 1st day of February 1959.

Notice of Intention to Take Land for Road in Block VII, Awakino North Survey District, Being a Deviation of the Te Kuiti - New Plymouth State Highway South of Awakino Adjoining the Waikato Stream
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post Office at Te Kuiti and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing, and send the writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SITUATED within Akaroa County—
All that area at Akaroa bounded by a line commencing at a point on the southern side of the Christchurch-Akaroa State Highway No. 74 at the north-eastern corner of Recreation Reserve 80A; thence proceeding north-easterly along a right line across the aforementioned State Highway to its northern side; thence easterly generally along that roadside and the northern side of Woodills Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 10170; thence south-easterly across Woodills Road to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 10170 and its production to the southern side of Grehan Valley Road; thence south-westerly along a right line to the intersection of the southern side of Balgueri Street with the eastern side of Watson Street; thence southerly generally along the eastern side of Watson Street to the south-eastern boundary of Lot 38, D.P. 13113; thence south-westerly across Watson Street to and along the last-mentioned boundary to the southernmost corner of Lot 38, D.P. 13113; thence again south-westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 10, D.P. 15299, along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 10, 3, 2, and 1 of that D.P., along the abutment of Selwyn Avenue and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 32, D.P. 6474 and its production to the south-western side of Aylmer Street; thence north-westerly along that roadside to the eastern side of the road to the lighthouse; thence southerly along that roadside across Lighthouse Road and westerly along the southern side of Kaik Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 2551, thence northerly across Kaik Road to and along that last-mentioned boundary and its production across Beach Road to the low-water mark of the sea; thence north-easterly generally along the low-water mark to a point due east of the point of commencement; thence easterly along a right line to the point of commencement.
The said area is more particularly shown edged red on the plan marked TT. 1425 deposited in the Head Office of the Transport Department at Wellington.

(2) The roads and portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.
