Declaring Land Held for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 10th day of March 1958.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to section 20 (1) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, approval has been granted to the Wairoa County Council to prepare, recommend, and approve its district scheme by Sections as follows:

Section 1—Wairoa Environs and Frasertown: As described in the First Schedule hereto.

Section 2—Opoutama and Mahia: As described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Section 3—Nuhaka Township: As described in the Third Schedule hereto.

Section 4—Rural Section: As described in the Fourth Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

WAIRUA COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME

Section 1—Wairoa Environs and Frasertown Section

ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay and Gisborne Land Districts, situated in the Wairoa County, bounded by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 9, Block VIII, Waihua Survey District; thence northerly generally along the eastern boundaries of the said Section 9 and of Section 6, Block VIII aforesaid, to the south-western boundary of Clyde Rural Section 8; thence north-westerly along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Clyde Rural Section 9 to the north-western boundary of the said Section 9; thence north-easterly along that boundary to the south-western side of the Gisborne-Napier via Hangaroa State Highway; thence north-westerly along that roadside to the southern boundary of Lot 2 on the plan numbered 1687 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier; thence westerly along that boundary to the south-western boundary of the said Lot 2; thence north-westerly along that boundary, the south-western boundaries of Turiroa Agricultural Section 4, and Section 2R, Block I, Clyde Survey District, including the crossing of a public road, and the south-western boundary of Turiroa Agricultural Section 5, including the crossing of the Gisborne-Napier via Hangaroa State Highway, and its production to the left bank of the Huramua Stream; thence along that bank to its junction with the southern side of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway; thence north-easterly generally along that side of the said railway to the middle of the Wairoa River; thence up the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 5 on the plan numbered 3253 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Gisborne; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary to the north-western boundary of Wairoa Military Section 107; thence south-westerly along that boundary and the north-western boundary of Wairoa Military Section 106 including the crossing of a public road to the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned Section 106; thence south-easterly along that boundary and its production to the middle of Kauhouroa Stream, thence up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Paeroa 2E 4 Block; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary to the northern side of Mangapoike Road; thence south-easterly along a right line to the eastern side of Mill Road at its junction with the southern side of Mangapoike Road; thence south-easterly generally along that roadside to the south-western boundary of Paeroa 2G 3 Block; thence south-easterly along that boundary to the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block XVII, Opoiti Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary and its production to the southern side of Clydebank Road; thence southerly generally and easterly generally along the western and southern boundaries of the said Section 3 to the eastern boundary of Raurakaiputara 4 Block; thence southerly along that boundary to the north-western boundary of Hinewhaki East 1c Block; thence north-easterly along that boundary to the north-eastern boundary of the said 1c Block; thence south-easterly along that boundary, the crossing of the Gisborne-Wairoa via Morere State Highway and the north-eastern boundary of Hinewhaki East 1A Block including the crossings of public roads, and the East Coast Main Trunk Railway to the northern boundary of Ohuia 1F Block; thence westerly along that boundary to the eastern side of Ngamotu Road; thence south-easterly generally along that roadside and its production to the sea coast; thence south-westerly along the sea coast to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 9, Block VIII, Waihua Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to the south-eastern corner of the said Section 9, being the point of commencement; excluding the Borough of Wairoa.

SECOND SCHEDULE

WAIRUA COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME

Section 2—Opoutama and Mahia Section

ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, Wairoa County, bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Opoutama Maori Reserve, situated in Block III, Mahanga Survey District; thence northerly generally along the western boundaries of the said reserve to the south-eastern boundary of Block 13, Kopuawhara Crown Grant District; thence north-easterly along that boundary to the south-western boundary of Block 2, Kopuawhara Crown Grant District; thence south-easterly along that boundary to the western side of Opoutama Road; thence north-easterly generally along that roadside to the right bank of the Kopuawhara Stream; thence along that bank to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Mahanga Block, situated in Block II, Mahanga Survey District; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary, and easterly along the northern boundary of the said Mahanga Block to the sea coast; thence southerly generally along the sea coast to the north-western boundary of Kaiuku Maori Reserve, situated in Block II; Mahia Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the north-eastern side of the Mahia East Coast Road; thence south-easterly along that roadside to a point in line with the south-eastern side of a public road running south-westerly through the aforesaid Kaiuku Maori Reserve as shown on plan numbered 1936 blue, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Napier; thence south-westerly to and along that roadside to the south-western boundary of the said Kaiuku Maori Reserve; thence south-easterly along that boundary to the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2 on the plan numbered 7935, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier; thence south-westerly generally along that boundary and the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 4 and 5 on the said plan to the southern boundary of Mahia Rural Section 6; thence westerly along that boundary and the southern boundary of Mahia Agricultural Section 2 to the sea coast; thence north-westerly generally along the sea coast to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Opoutama Maori Reserve; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary to the south-western corner of the said Reserve being the point of commencement.

THIRD SCHEDULE

Section 3—Nuhaka Township Section

ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, Wairoa County, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Nuhaka River at its junction with the south-western side of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway, situated in Block VIII, Nuhaka Survey District; thence north-westerly along the south-western side of the said railway to its intersection with a drain reserve as shown on plan numbered 1098 blue, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier, being a point on the northern boundary of Nuhaka 2c 2D 2 Block; thence westerly generally along that boundary, and the northern boundaries of Nuhaka 2c 2D 1, 2c 2T, and 2c 2G Blocks to the south-eastern boundary of Nuhaka 2E 3A 7B 1 Block; thence generally north-easterly along the eastern boundaries of the said Nuhaka 2E 3A 7B 1 Block to the south-western side of the Gisborne Wairoa via Morere State Highway, including the crossing of the aforementioned railway; thence north-westerly along that roadside to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Nuhaka 2E 3A 3 Block; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary to the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block VIII, Nuhaka Survey District; thence south-easterly along that boundary, north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary, and north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of the said Section 1, to the south-eastern boundary of Section 2s, Oman Settlement; thence north-easterly generally along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of that section to the north-western side of the Gisborne-Wairoa via Morere State Highway; thence north-easterly along that roadside to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 1s, Oman Settlement; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary to a point on the right bank of the Nuhaka River in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 13 on the plan numbered Deeds 446, lodged in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier; thence across the Nuhaka River to and southerly along the north-western boundaries of the said Lot 13 and Lot 12 on the aforementioned plan numbered Deeds 446, and Lot 12 on the plan numbered 2463, deposited
