Authorising the Timaru City Council to Erect and Use
Certain Electric Lines in the City of Timaru

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 4th day of
September 1957

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT
IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises
the Timaru City Council (hereinafter referred to as the
licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to
lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto.


CONDITIONS

IMPLIED CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by
    the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical
    Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall
    form part of this licence except in so far as the same may be
    inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

  1. The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by
    the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the
    Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference
    Regulations 1934, and with all regulations hereafter made in
    amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.

SYSTEMS OF SUPPLY

  1. The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs
    (a), (d), (f), and (h) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical
    Supply Regulations 1935.

DURATION OF LICENCE

  1. This licence shall, unless sooner lawfully determined,
    continue in force until the 7th day of June 1965.

SCHEDULE

LINES for the transmission of electrical energy by the systems
of supply hereinbefore described leading from the licensee’s
lines at the junction of Otipua Road and Coonoor Road, along
and across a portion of the said Coonoor Road, and being
situated within the City of Timaru; as the said lines are more
particularly delineated by means of red lines on the plan
marked S.H.D. 453 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-
electric Department at Wellington.

Revoking an Order in Council Taking Land at Rarotonga
(Cook Islands)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 28th day of
August 1957

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT
IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 358 of the Cook Islands Act 1915, His
Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
hereby revokes the Order in Council made on the 29th day
of February 1956 and published in the Gazette of 8 March
1956, at page 307, taking the land described in the Schedule
hereto for public purposes, namely Education (the Order in
Council so revoked having been made in error).


SCHEDULE

ALL those parcels of land, situated in the District of Arorangi,
in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing 1 rood 7
perches and 1 acre 2 roods 13 perches respectively, more or
less, being parts of the land named by the Native Land Court
Akaoa Section 2, Akaoa Tapere, as the same is delineated and
coloured blue on the plan signed by the Resident Commis-
sioner of Rarotonga and deposited in the office of the High
Court of the Cook Islands at Rarotonga under No. 60.

Amending Order in Council Making Provision for the Control
and Management of Certain Wharves at Picton Vested in
the Picton Borough Council

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT
IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 46 of the Reserves and Other Lands
Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act 1925, His Excel-
lency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
orders as follows:

  1. This order may be cited as the Picton Borough Wharves
    Amending Order 1957.

  2. The Second Schedule to the Picton Borough Wharves
    Order 1928, Gazette, 18 October 1928, Volume III, page 3020,
    as substituted by the Picton Borough Wharves Amending
    Order 1956, Gazette, 16 February 1956, Volume I, page 190,
    is hereby amended:

(a) By omitting the words “Bricks (per thousand)
12s. 6d.”, and substituting the words “Bricks (per
thousand) 7s. 6d.”

(b) By omitting the words “Gravel, sand, and similar ma-
terials not manufactured (per cubic yard) 7s. 6d.”,
and substituting the words “Gravel, sand, and similar
materials not manufactured (per cubic yard) 3s.”

(c) By adding to Part II the words “Newspapers and library
books (Free)”.

Warrant Appointing a Member of the Grey Electric Power
Board

Administrator of the Government

PURSUANT to section 23 of the Electric Power Boards Act
1925, I, Major-General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric
Barrowclough, the Administrator of the Government of New
Zealand, hereby appoint

Roy Hodgson,

of Marsden, miner, to be a representative of the combined
district of parts Grey, Inangahua, Buller, and Westland
Counties, on the Grey Electric Power Board.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of
the Government this 29th day of August 1957.

PURSUANT to section 24 of the Rabbits Act 1955, the Minister
of Agriculture hereby appoints

Austin James Harland White,

being an inspector appointed under Part III of the said Act,
to be a member of the Moawhango, Hunterville, Hautapu,
Maungakaretu, and Pukeokaha-Taoroa Rabbit Boards, vice
William Henry August.

ary Services Act 1956,
