HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT
IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises
Frederick Quinton Lanauze, farmer; Oscar Johanson, farmer;
Thomas Henry Lanauze, retired farmer; and Ivan Frederick
Dockery, garage proprietor, all of Te One, Chatham Islands
(hereinafter referred to as the licensees), subject to the con-
ditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place,
and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by
the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical
Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall
form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may
be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by
the licensees with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935,
the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference
Regulations 1934, and with all regulations hereafter made in
amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph
(d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations
1935, and shall be an alternating-current system.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1978.
SCHEDULE
LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the system of
supply hereinbefore described, commencing from the licensees'
generator situated in Kekerione 2B, and proceeding as follows:
(1) In a north-easterly direction to a garage situated in the
said Kekerione 2B.
(2) In a south-westerly direction across a public road to a
house situated in the said Kekerione 2B, and thence:
(a) In a north-westerly direction to a hut and a
house situated in parts Sections 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9.
(b) In a southerly direction to a house situated in
parts Kekerione 1s and 1ad.
All being situated in Block XV, Te Whanga Survey District,
in the County of Chatham Islands. The said lines and buildings
being more particularly shown on the plan marked S.H.D. 437
deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department
at Wellington.

Farmer, to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity and to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines

IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to
Rowland Gerald Gordon, of Paenga, Murchison, farmer
(hereinafter referred to as the licensee), a licence, subject to
the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from
Baxters Creek (hereinafter referred to as the said stream),
situated in part Sections 13 and 20, Block XV, Maruia Survey
District, in the County of Murchison, for the purpose here-
in after set forth, a stream of water not exceeding one cubic
foot per second at any one time, and to lay, construct, put up,
place, and use the electric lines hereinafter described.
CONDITIONS

the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply
Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part
of this licence except in so far as the same may be inconsistent

- This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations
1934, and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Supply
Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the
Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and to all regulations
hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution
therefor respectively.
UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
- Water shall be used under this licence solely for the
purpose of generating electricity and shall be taken from the
said stream at the point in part Sections 13 and 20, Block XV,
Maruia Survey District, indicated on the plan marked S.H.D.
449 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Depart-
ment at Wellington.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
- The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions
hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for
the purpose of this licence, the positions of the said works
being indicated on the said plan S.H.D. 449.
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with a water
race leading to the powerhouse hereinafter referred
to, giving a static head of approximately 64 ft.
(b) Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equip-
ment for generating electricity situated in part Sec-
tions 13 and 20, Block XV, Maruia Survey District.
(c) Tail race leading from the said powerhouse back to the
said stream.
(d) Electric lines leading from the said powerhouse and
proceeding as follows:
(1) In a southerly direction to the licensee's house.
(2) In a north-westerly direction across Baxters
Creek to a house.
All being situated in part Sections 13 and 20, Block
XV, Maruia Survey District; the said buildings being
more particularly shown on the said plan S.H.D.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be a direct-current system as
described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Elec-
trical Supply Regulations 1935.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined, this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1978.
RENTAL
- For the purposes of assessing the rental or annual sum
payable in respect of this licence, the maximum generating
capacity of the plant at the commencement of this licence is
3 kilowatts.
NO RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED
- Nothing in this licence shall of itself confer upon the
licensee any right to water.
