ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 27th day of
March 1957
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 10 of the National Parks Act 1952, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares
that the lands described in the First Schedule hereto shall as
from the date hereof be added to and form part of the Egmont
National Park, and shall hereafter be managed, administered,
and dealt with by the Egmont National Park Board in accordance
with the provisions of the said Act, and further hereby
declares that the land described in the Second Schedule hereto
shall as from the aforesaid date be excluded from the said
park.
FIRST SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT—CROWN LAND SUBJECT TO THE
PROVISIONS OF THE LAND ACT 1948 ADDED TO EGMONT
NATIONAL PARK
SECTION 174 (formerly part Section 30), Oakura District, situated
in Block II, Wairau Survey District: Area, 1 acre and
37·7 perches, more or less. (S.O. Plan 8702.)
Also Lot 2, D.P. 7882, being part Section 13, Block VII, Cape
Survey District: Area, 119 acres, more or less.
SECOND SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT—LAND EXCLUDED FROM EGMONT
NATIONAL PARK
SUBDIVISION 11 of Section 170 and part Subdivision 2 of Section
170, Oakura District, situated in Block III, Cape Survey
District: Total area, 6 acres and 5·7 perches, more or less.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Waimatua Rabbit
District Order 1957.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the
date of its notification in the Gazette. -
The boundaries of the Waimatua Rabbit District, which
was constituted by Order in Council on the 3rd day of December
1941,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the
commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district
shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIMATUA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, Southland
County, containing by estimation 135,750 acres, more or less,
inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, and bounded as
follows:
Commencing at the junction of the eastern side of Race-
course Road with the northern side of the Gore-Invercargill
State Highway in Block II, Invercargill Hundred; thence north-
westerly generally along the eastern side of the said Race-
course Road to and across the Waihopai River to the right bank
thereof; thence easterly generally along the right bank of the
said Waihopai River to the eastern side of the Kennington-
Rakahouka Main Highway; thence northerly generally along
the eastern side of the said Kennington-Rakahouka Main High-
way to the southern side of the Gore-Invercargill State High-
way; thence north-easterly generally along the southern side
of the said Gore-Invercargill State Highway to the western
side of Evans Road in Block VI, Invercargill Hundred; thence
southerly generally along the western side of Evans Road to
the left bank of the Waihopai River through Section 30, Block
VIII, Invercargill Hundred; thence easterly generally along the
left bank of the Waihopai River to the Woodlands South
Main Highway; thence southerly along the western side of the
said Woodlands South Main Highway to its junction with the
Kennington-Waikawa Main Highway; thence south-easterly
along the south-western side of the said Kennington-Waikawa
Main Highway to the Mokotua Main Highway; thence souther-
ly generally along the western side of the said Mokotua Main
Highway to its junction with the Invercargill-Fortrose Main
Highway; thence south-easterly and easterly along the northern
side of the said Invercargill-Fortrose Main Highway to Kapuka
Road; thence south-easterly along the southern side of the
Seaward Bush Branch Railway Reserve to the north-eastern
corner of the western part of Section 34, Block IX, Oteramika
Hundred; thence easterly by a right line across a railway
reserve to the north-western corner of the eastern part of
Section 34, Block IX, aforesaid; thence easterly along the
southern side of the Seaward Bush Branch Railway Reserve
to the right bank of the Mataura River; thence southerly
generally along the right bank of the Mataura River to the sea;
thence westerly by the sea to Tiwai Point; thence easterly
generally along the southern side of Bluff Harbour and
Awarua Bay to the easternmost point of Awarua Bay; thence
westerly, southerly, and north-westerly generally along the
northern side of Awarua Bay and the northern and western
side of Bluff Harbour to the northern boundary of the
Borough of Bluff as comprised and described in Gazette of
1 August 1940, page 1802; thence south-easterly along the
said northern boundary of the Borough of Bluff to Foveaux
Strait, thence north-westerly, easterly, southerly, northerly again
easterly, and northerly along the eastern side of Foveaux Strait,
Mokomoko Inlet, and the New River Harbour to the southern
boundary of the City of Invercargill as comprised and described
in Gazette of 3 June 1954, page 948; thence easterly along the
said southern boundary of the City of Invercargill to the western
boundary of the Borough of South Invercargill as comprised and
described in Gazette of 3 June 1954, pages 948–949; thence south-easterly,
north-easterly, and again south-
easterly along the said boundary of the Borough of South
Invercargill to and across Boundary Road; thence in a north-
erly direction along the eastern side of the said Boundary Road
across Tramway Road and along the eastern side of Rockdale
Road and across the Gore-Invercargill State Highway to the
point of commencement.

His Excellency the Governor-General hereby authorises the
persons named in the Schedule hereto, being the holders of
the offices specified after their names, to take and receive
statutory declarations under that section.

Member of Ohai Railway Board Appointed

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Ohai Railway Board Act 1932,
I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie,
the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint
Alexander McKenzie, of Invercargill, company director,
to be a member of the Ohai Railway Board on and from 1
March 1957 as representative of the coal owners.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
this 28th day of March 1957.
