a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 3,
Block VII, Aroha Survey District, and along another right
line across another public road to and along that north-eastern boundary, the north-eastern boundary of Section 5 of
the said Block VII, and a right line being the last-mentioned
boundary produced to the southern boundary of Section 24,
Block III, Aroha Survey District; thence along the southern,
eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of the said Section 24,
the eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Section 3 of
Block III aforesaid, the south-eastern, north-eastern, north-western, and south-western boundaries of Section 1B and the
north-western boundaries of Sections 37 and 38, to and along
the north-eastern and northern boundaries of Section 36, to a

and along a right line to and along the eastern and northern
boundaries of the said Section 40 (passing along the intervening
eastern boundaries of Section 72 and the eastern and
northern boundaries of Section 71), to and along the eastern
and northern boundaries of Section 50, and the northern
boundary of Section 74, to the southern corner of Section 24,
the said sections being of Block II, Aroha Survey District,
aforesaid; thence generally northerly along the south-eastern
boundary of the said Section 24, and that boundary produced
to and along the middle of the public road intersecting the
aforesaid Section 24, to a point in line with the south-eastern
boundary of Section 25; thence along a right line to and along
the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the said
Section 25, the eastern boundary of Section 16 and the
southern boundary of Section 88, the said sections being of the
aforesaid Block II, and along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced to and along the middle of the
public road forming the western boundaries generally of
Sections 90, 58, and 91 of Block II aforesaid, to the Ohinemuri
River; thence along a right line across that river and a public
road to the southern corner of the part Section 17 of Block
XIV, Ohinemuri Survey District, aforementioned, containing
an area of 45 acres 1 rood 24 perches, and along the south-western boundaries of the said part Section 17 and of Section
54, along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary
produced to the middle of the public road forming the north-western boundary of the said Section 54, and along the middle
of that public road to a point in line with the generally
eastern boundary of Section 51; thence along a right line to
and along that eastern boundary, to and along the southern
and eastern boundaries of Section 95, to and along the southern,
eastern, and northern boundaries of Section 94, to and
again along the eastern boundary of Section 95 aforesaid,
and along a right line to and along the eastern boundary of
Section 36, and that boundary produced to the generally
southern boundary of Section 50, the aforesaid sections all
being of Block XIV, aforesaid; thence along that southern
boundary and along the production of the northern
boundary of Section 20 of Block XIV aforesaid, to and along
the eastern side of the public road forming the western
boundary of Lot 7, D.P. 23576, aforementioned, to the northernmost corner of the said Lot 7, the point of commencement,
save and excepting thereout the Borough of Waihi.

Constituting Rotorua United Urban Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 27th day of
March 1957
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby declares:
-
That from the 31st day of March 1957, the Rotorua Urban
Fire District and the Ngongotaha Secondary Urban Fire
District shall be abolished. -
That, on the 1st day of April 1957, the areas described
in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a united urban fire
district by the name of the Rotorua United Urban Fire District. -
That the number of members to be elected to represent
the Councils of the Borough of Rotorua and the County of
Rotorua on the Board of the district hereby constituted shall
be three, who shall be elected in the following manner:(a) Two members by resolution of the Rotorua Borough
Council;(b) One member by resolution of the Rotorua County
Council. -
That the amount to be paid to the Fire Board of the
district hereby constituted by the uniting local authorities,
pursuant to section 53 of the said Act, shall, as between each
of the said uniting local authorities, be in proportion to the
capital values of the rateable property in their districts or such
part thereof as is included in the said united urban fire district;
provided that in the case of that part of the County of
Rotorua situated within the said united urban fire district the
capital value of each piece of farm land separately valued on
the valuation roll shall, for the purposes of the said section 53,
be deemed to be the value of all buildings on that land plus
the average unimproved value of one-quarter acre of that land.
SCHEDULE
Rotorua United Urban Fire District
All that area comprising the Borough of Rotorua.
Also all that area in the Rotorua County in the South
Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a
point on the western shores of Lake Rotorua in Block XII,
Rotorua Survey District, being the southernmost corner of
Waiteti No. 2A 1A 4 Block, and running generally southerly
along those western shores to and along the western boundaries of the Borough of Rotorua as described in Gazette,
No. 23, of the 20th day of April 1950, page 471, to a point in
line with the south-western boundary of part Kaitao-Rotohokahoka No. 3D Block, Horohoro Survey District; thence along a right line to the westernmost corner of part
Kaitao-Rotohokahoka No. 3E 4 Block; thence generally northerly
along the north-western boundary of that last-mentioned
block, along the north-western boundaries of Lots 4, 3, and 1,
D.P. 30807, being part No. 3E 4 Block aforesaid, to and along
the south-western side of Pukehangi Road, to and along the
north-western boundary of part Kaitao-Rotohokahoka No.
2M 3 Block, to a point in line with the eastern part of the
generally south-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. S. 465 being
part Kaitao-Rotohokahoka No. 2M 1 Block; thence along a
right line to and along that south-western boundary, the north-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. S. 465 aforesaid, and Lot 1,
D.P. 31788, being part of the aforesaid No. 2M 1 Block, to
and again along the western side of Pukehangi Road, to and
along the northern side of Clayton Road and the western side
of Mt. Ngongotaha Road, to and along the south-eastern
and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 9, D.P. 7245, being part
Rotohokahoka F Nos. 3, 4, and 6 Blocks, along a right line
across part Rotohokahoka F No. 6 Block and Lot 10, D.P.
7245 aforesaid, to and along the south-western boundaries of
Lots 3, 2, and 1, D.P. 7245, being part Rotohokahoka F
Nos. 6 and 8 Blocks, along another right line crossing part
Rotohokahoka F Block (Gravel Pit Gazette, 1921, page 1119),
to and along the south-western boundary of part Rotohokahoka
E Block (Cemetery Reserve), to and along the south-eastern
and south-western boundaries of Okoheriki No. 1K North
No. 5 Block and the south-western boundaries of Okoheriki No.
1K North Nos. 4, 3, 2, and 1 Blocks, along the south-eastern
and south-western boundaries of Okoheriki No. 11 East No.
2 Block; thence along the southern side of Valley Road to a
point in line with the eastern boundary of Okoheriki No. 1H
North No. 4 Block; thence along a right line across Valley
Road to and along the last-mentioned eastern boundary,
along the southern boundary of parts Section 6 and along
the western boundaries of part Section 5, both of Block XVI,
Rotorua Survey District, and Lot 1, D.P. S. 1156 being part
of the aforesaid Section 5, along a right line across the
Hamilton-Rotorua State Highway to and along the western
and northern boundaries of Lot 1, the northern boundaries
of Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, along a right line to and
along the northern boundaries of Lots 11, 12, and 13, the
aforesaid lots being shown on D.P. S. 130 being part Section
8, Block XVI aforesaid, along the eastern boundary of part
Section 8 aforementioned, and that boundary produced to and
easterly along the northern side of the Auckland-Rotorua
Railway to the eastern boundary of Okoheriki No. 2c 2 Block;
thence along that eastern boundary and that boundary produced,
to and down the left bank of the Waiteti Stream to and along
the western side of the Rotorua-Tauranga Main High-
