Revoking a Warrant Declaring Land, Taranaki Land District, Taranaki Acclimatisation District, to be a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrant published in Gazette, 6 March 1930, Volume I, page 701, notifying and declaring an area of land to be a sanctuary under the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921-22 in the Taranaki Acclimatisation District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 18th day of March 1957.

Constituting Porirua United Urban Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 13th day of March 1957
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General In Council
Pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares:
-
That, as from the 31st day of March 1957, the Tawa Flat and Titahi Bay Secondary Urban Fire Districts shall be abolished.
-
That, on the 1st day of April 1957, the areas described in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a united urban fire district by the name of the Porirua United Urban Fire District.
-
That the number of members to be elected to represent the Councils of the Borough of Tawa Flat and the County of Makara on the Board of the district hereby constituted shall be two, who shall be elected in the following manner:
(a) One member by resolution of the Tawa Flat Borough Council.
(b) One member by resolution of the Makara County Council.
SCHEDULE
PORIRUA UNITED URBAN FIRE DISTRICT
ALL that area comprising the Borough of Tawa Flat.
Also all that portion of the County of Makara bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the north-eastern boundary of Section 99, Block VIII, Paekakariki Survey District, with the No. 34 Wellington-Paekakariki State Highway and proceeding generally in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of the aforesaid Section 99, of Sections 29, 32, and 35, Block II, Belmont Survey District, and Section 348, Block III, Belmont Survey District; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 348 and 344, Block III, Belmont Survey District, thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the aforesaid Section 344 to its junction with Section 34, Block II, Belmont Survey District, thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 29, and 28, Block II, Belmont Survey District; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the aforesaid Section 28 to its junction with Section 12; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 12 and 10; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of Section 10 to its junction with Section 6; thence southerly generally along the eastern boundaries of Sections 6, 4, 3, 2, and 1 to that Section's junction with the northern boundary of Section 38; thence westerly along the southern boundary of Section 1 to its junction with the eastern boundary of Section 39; thence southerly generally along the eastern boundary of Sections 39, 37, 35, 33, 30, 29, 27, 25, 23, and 21; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundaries of Sections 21 and 20 to that Section's junction with the eastern boundary of Section 106, Block VI, Belmont Survey District; thence in a northerly direction generally along the western boundaries of Sections 20 and 22, Block VI, Belmont Survey District, and Sections 24, 26, 28, 31, 32, 34, 36, 38, and part 41, Porirua District, to the southern boundary of the land shown on plan number D/514 lodged in the District Land Registry Office, at Wellington; thence westerly, northerly, and easterly generally along the southern, western, and northern boundaries of that land to the western boundary of Section 41, Porirua District; thence northerly along that boundary and the western boundaries of Sections 43, 45, 47, 49, 52, 54, and 55 to that Section's north-western boundary; thence by a continuation of that line to the north-eastern boundary of Section 122, Block V, Belmont Survey District; thence in a northerly direction generally along the western boundary of the Takapuwahia Block and Section 1, Koangaamu Block, to the Cook Strait sea coast; thence northerly and easterly generally around the Cook Strait sea coast and by a continuation of that line across the Porirua Harbour to the point of commencement, excluding therefrom the Borough of Tawa Flat.

Pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares the Helensville, Howick, Raetihi, Roxburgh, and Waiuku Secondary Urban Fire Districts to be urban fire districts by the names of the Helensville Urban Fire District, the Howick Urban Fire District, the Raetihi Urban Fire District, the Roxburgh Urban Fire District, and the Waiuku Urban Fire District, respectively.

Pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares the urban area of Amberley, in the County of Kowai, the urban area of Benneydale in the County of Waitomo, and the urban area of Orawia, in the County of Wallace, to be secondary urban fire districts by the names of the Amberley Secondary Urban Fire District, the Benneydale Secondary Urban Fire District, and the Orawia Secondary Urban Fire District respectively.

Town District of Bulls Abolished and Boundaries of County of Rangitikei Altered

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares:

That, as from the 31st day of March 1957, the Town District of Bulls shall be abolished and the Bulls Town Council dissolved.
-
That, as on and from the 1st day of April 1957, the area comprising the Town District of Bulls shall be included in the County of Rangitikei and shall form part of the Rangitoto Riding of that county.
-
(a) That, as from the 31st day of March 1957, the Bulls Secondary Urban Fire District shall be abolished.
(b) That, as on and from the 1st day of April 1957, the urban area of Bulls, being the area included in the County of Rangitikei as aforesaid, shall be constituted a secondary urban fire district by the name of the Bulls Secondary Urban Fire District. -
That the provisions of section 28 of the Counties Act 1956 shall apply to the abolition of the Town District of Bulls in all respects as if the said town district had been a dependent town district merged in the county.
