Amending Declaration of Land, Hawke's Bay Acclimatisation District, as a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrant published in Gazette, 22 July 1948, Volume I, page 908, notifying and declaring an area of land to be a sanctuary under the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921-22 in the Hawkeβs Bay Acclimatisation District; and hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge for the purposes of the said Wildlife Act 1953 in the Hawkeβs Bay Acclimatisation District.
SCHEDULE
LAKES Waikopiro and Orakai, and that part Lake Tutira excluding Tutira B 19 Block together with the reserve under Section 129, Land Act 1924, surrounding Lake Orakai, and along parts of Lakes Tutira and Waikopiro. Also Sections 12 and 15, Horse Paddock, and part of the Napier-Gisborne via Hangaroa State Highway, situated in Block XIII, Maungaharuru Survey District.
As the same is more particularly shown on plan marked I.A. 52/20 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 5th day of March 1957.

Waioeka River District Constituted and Opotiki County Council Declared to be the Board Thereof

At the Government House at Wellington this 6th day of March 1957
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares:
- That, as on and from the 1st day of April 1957, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a river district by the name of the Waioeka River District.
- That the Council of the County of Opotiki shall be the River Board of the said river district.
- That the constitution of the said river district shall be deemed to have been effected under the River Boards Act 1908.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point being the westernmost corner of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 4390, Opotiki Suburbs, being a point on the southern side of Duke Street, situated in Block III, Opotiki Survey District; thence in an easterly direction by the said southern side of Duke Street to a point being the westernmost corner of Section 5B, Opotiki Suburbs; thence southerly and easterly by the western boundary of said Section 5B, the western and southern boundaries of Section 5A, and the southern boundary of Section 5 to the Whakatane-Gisborne via Waioeka State Highway No. 20; thence southerly generally by the said Whakatane-Gisborne via Waioeka State Highway No. 20 to the northern boundary of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 6883AK, Opotiki Suburbs; thence westerly, southerly, and easterly by the northern, western and southern boundaries of said Lot 1 to the state highway aforesaid; thence again in a southerly direction by the said State highway to the northern boundary of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 3956; thence westerly, southerly, and easterly by the northern, western, and southern boundaries of said Lot 1 and by the southern boundary of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 4228, to the State highway aforesaid; thence northerly generally by the western boundary of said part Lot 20, Deposited Plan 3289AK, by the western boundary of part Allotment 20, Waioeka Parish, Survey Office Plan 2813, to its intersection with the southern boundary of Allotment 20A, Waioeka Parish, Survey Office Plan 2813, Block VII, Opotiki Survey District; thence north-westerly generally by the southern boundary of said Allotment 20A, and by a right line across the Waioeka River and a public road to the south-westernmost corner of part Allotment 398, Waiotahi Parish, Deposited Plan 3502, being a point on a public road situated in Block VII, Opotiki Survey District; thence north-westerly generally by the said public road to its intersection with Woodlands Road; thence in a northerly direction generally by the eastern side of the said Woodlands Road to the southern boundary of Section 29s, Hukutaia Settlement, Block VI, Opotiki Survey District; thence easterly, northerly, and westerly by the southern boundary of Section 29s, and the southern, eastern, and northern boundaries of Section 5s, Hukutaia Settlement, to its intersection with Woodlands Road aforesaid; again in a northerly direction generally by the said Woodlands Road, across a public road to the southern boundary of Part 384, Deposited Plan 3297, Block III, Opotiki Survey District; thence easterly, northerly, and westerly by the southern, eastern, and northern boundaries of said Part 384 to the said Woodlands Road; again by the said Woodlands Road to the southern boundary of Lot 3, Deposited Plan 3770; thence in an easterly, northerly, and westerly direction by the southern, eastern, and northern boundaries of said Lot 3 to Woodlands Road, again by said Woodlands Road to the southern boundary of Lot 2, Deposited Plan 3770; thence in an easterly, northerly, and westerly direction generally by the southern and eastern boundaries of said Lot 2, the eastern boundary of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 3770, the southern boundaries of Lots 8 and 9, Deposited Plan 12689AK, the southern and eastern boundaries of Lot 10, Deposited Plan 12689AK, the eastern boundary of a public road by the eastern and northern boundaries of Lot 5, Deposited Plan 12689AK, and by the northern boundary of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 2897, to its intersection with Woodlands Road aforementioned, again in a northerly direction by the said Woodlands Road to its intersection with a public road; thence easterly to a point opposite the south-easternmost corner of Lot 2, Deposited Plan 4233, Block III, Opotiki Survey District; thence northerly to and by the eastern boundaries of Lots 2 and 1, Deposited Plan 4233, across a public road, and thence south-westerly and north-westerly by said public road to its intersection with the northern boundary of part Allotment 384, Waiotahi Parish; thence south-easterly generally by the northern and eastern boundaries of said part Allotment 384 to its intersection with a public road aforementioned; thence in a south-easterly direction by a right line to the westernmost corner of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 4390, Opotiki Suburbs, being the point of commencement.

Boundaries of Borough of Greytown and County of Featherston Altered

At the Government House at Wellington this 13th day of March 1957
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that as on and from the 1st day of April 1957 the areas described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Borough of Greytown and included in the County of Featherston, and with the like advice and consent also declares that the alteration of the boundaries of the said borough and the said county hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

AREAS Excluded from the Borough of Greytown and included in the County of Featherston:
All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Greytown Small Farms Settlement, in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2 as shown on the plan numbered 8748 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, being also a point on the boundary of the Borough of Greytown as described in the Gazette, 1926, at page 1655; thence south-westerly to the easternmost corner of Lot 2 aforesaid; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid, south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid, to the north-eastern boundary of Section 4, Greytown Small Farm Settlement; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Section 4 aforesaid and Lots 16 and 1 as shown on the plan numbered 17801 deposited as aforesaid and the production thereof to the middle of Udy Street; thence north-easterly along the middle of that street to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of that part of Section 30, Greytown Small Farms Settlement, comprised in certificate of title, Volume 336, folio 151, Wellington Registry; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary, south-westerly along the north-western boundary of the aforesaid part of Section 30, to the north-eastern side of Kuretawhiti Street,
