PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the
Schedule hereto to be Crown land for the purposes of the
Land Act 1948 as from the 22nd day of January 1957, sub-
ject to the building-line restriction contained in K.53646,
Auckland Land Registry.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block IV, Waimea Survey
District, for Road
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the pro-
visions of the Public Works Act 1928, to execute a certain
public work - to wit, the construction of a road - and for the
purposes of such public work the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby
further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken
is deposited in the post office at Nelson and is there open for
inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of
the said public work or by the taking of the said land should,
if they have any well grounded objections to the execution of
the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth
the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days
from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of
Works at Wellington.

Hokianga Survey District, for a Public School
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land
described in the Schedule hereto for a public school; and
notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so
required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Omapere
and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected
by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well
grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the
same in writing, and send the writing, within forty days from
the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at
Wellington.

notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so

and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected
by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well
grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the
same in writing, and send the writing, within forty days from
the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works

Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance Orders in the
Federation of Malaya
IT is notified for general information that maintenance orders
made in New Zealand, the Cook Islands (including Niue),
and the Trust Territory of Western Samoa may now be
enforced in the Federation of Malaya.
The Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) (New
Zealand) Order 1956, which was promulgated on 27 September
1956, declared New Zealand, the Cook Islands (including
Niue), and the Trust Territory of Western Samoa to be
reciprocating countries for the purposes of the Maintenance
Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Ordinance 1949.

Fixing Date on Which Certain Returns Under the Fire
Services Act 1949 are to be Furnished
PURSUANT to section 52 of the Fire Services Act 1949, it is
hereby notified that the returns required by that section (as
amended by the Fire Services Amendment Acts 1953 and
1956), showing the amount of premiums received by or due
to fire insurance companies during the year ended 31 Decem-
ber 1956, shall be transmitted to the Fire Service Council in
the manner prescribed by the said section on or before the
28th day of February 1957.

Time and Place of Elections by Fire Insurance Companies for
Fill Extraordinary Vacancies on the Fire Committees for
the Alexandra, Cromwell, and Queenstown Urban Fire
Districts
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Fire Services Act 1949, the
Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on
Tuesday, 12 February 1957, as the time, and the offices of the
Otago and Southland Fire and Accident Underwriters Asso-
ciation, Dunedin, as the place, for the holding of a meeting
of representatives of the fire insurance companies carrying on
business in New Zealand to elect one member on each of the
fire committees for the Alexandra, Cromwell, and Queenstown
Urban Fire Districts.
