A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for road; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 25th day of February 1957.
SCHEDULE
All that piece of land in the North Auckland Land District, containing 1 acre and 27.6 perches, situated in Block VIII, Waitemata Survey District, Auckland R.D., and being Lot 1, L.T. Plan 44266. Part certificate of title, Volume 573, folio 26 (limited as to parcels).
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 16th day of February 1957.

Declaring Land, Otago Land District, to be a Wildlife Refuge in the Waitaki Acclimatisation District

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge for the purposes of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
All that area of swamp situated in Section 26A, Steward Settlement, Papakaio Survey District, bounded to the south by a terrace south of the swamp and to the north by a line 200 yards to the north of the said terrace and running parallel with it, the said area terminating at the eastern and western boundaries of the said Section 26A, S.O. Plan 2216.
Also the same is more particularly shown on plan marked I.A. 52/413 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon edged red, and as may be further defined by the erection of white-painted posts.

Amending Proclamation Setting Out Restrictions as to the Use of Boats in Wildlife Refuges in the Ashburton Acclimatisation District

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the restrictions as to the use of boats in wildlife refuges in the Ashburton Acclimatisation District set out in the Third Schedule to the Proclamation published in Gazette, 10 January 1957, No. 1, page 7, and I hereby declare that the restrictions as to the use of boats set out in the Schedule hereto shall apply in the said Ashburton Acclimatisation District.
SCHEDULE
- Lake Heron: The use of boats on Lake Heron is hereby restricted to boats wholly propelled by oars or paddles. 2. Lake Tripp: The use of boats on Lake Tripp is hereby restricted to boats wholly propelled by oars or paddles.

Amending Declaration of Land, Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District, as a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrants notifying and declaring the areas described in the First Schedule hereto to be sanctuaries under the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921-22, and hereby proclaim and declare the areas described in the Second Schedule hereto to be wildlife refuges for the purposes of the Wildlife Act 1953; and I hereby further declare that the restriction as to the use of boats set out in the Third Schedule shall apply in the Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District and that the Secretary for Internal Affairs is authorised to grant exemptions from the restriction set out in the said Third Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE
AREAS REVOKED AS SANCTUARIES UNDER THE ANIMALS PROTECTION AND GAME ACT 1921-22
- Lake Hayes, Queenstown: The fresh-water lake known as Lake Hayes, near Queenstown, Wakatipu, and an area half a mile in width surrounding the said lake. 2. Part of Lake Wanaka: All that area in the Land District of Otago, being the southern part of Lake Wanaka, lying south of a right line running from the mouth of Waterfall Creek to Eely Point, including the reserve along the shore of that part of the said lake. 3. Part of Lake Wakatipu and Surrounding Land (Queenstown, etc.): All that area in the Otago Land District,, containing by admeasurement 4,400 acres, more or less, being part of the waters of Lake Wakatipu and land in the vicinity, commencing at Trig. Station I, near Refuge Point, in Block VII, Coneburn Survey District; thence bounded towards the south-west by a line to the southern corner of Section 28, Block I, Mid-Wakatipu Survey District; thence towards the north-west by said Section 28; thence by a line from the south-eastern corner of aforesaid section to the southern corner of Section 73, Block XX, Shotover Survey District; thence towards the north-west generally by Sections 19, 22, 8, by the crossing of a road, by said road, and by Section 11, said Block XX; thence towards the east and north-east generally by Sections 75 and 32, said Block XX, to the southern side of Frankton Road; again towards the north-west by said road to the eastern boundary of the Town of Frankton; thence again towards the north-east generally by the eastern boundary of said town to the Kawarau River; thence across said river to the most northern corner of Block XII, Coneburn Survey District; thence by part of that block to a road; thence towards the south-east generally by said road to the most southern corner of Section 2, Block I, Coneburn Survey District; thence by a right line to Trig. Station I, being the commencing point. 4. All that area in the Otago Land District containing by admeasurement 287 acres, more or less, being Section 41, Block I, Section 13, and part of Recreation Reserve C, Block II, Upper Wakatipu Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by the southern side of Barra Street, Town of Kinloch, 1292 links; towards the west generally by the eastern side of Armadale Street, Town of Kinloch, 2010 links; towards the north by the southern side of Skye Street, Town of Kinloch, 3699.1 links; towards the east by the eastern boundary of Section 41, Block I, and 13, Block II, Upper Wakatipu Survey District, 6167.3 links; towards the south by the southern boundary of Section 13, Block II, and the production of that line, 5094 links; towards the west by the production of the western side of Islay Street, Town of Kinloch, 4170.5 links. Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly shown on plan marked L. and S. 23/807 deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged purple. 5. Area between Milford Sound and Te Anau: All that area in the Land District of Otago bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the west coast bearing north 45Β° west from Mount Sutherland; thence by a right line to the said Mount Sutherland; thence by the summit of the Darran Mountains to Mount Christina; thence by the watershed over Mount Anau to Skelmorlie Peak; thence by a right line bearing south 75Β° west to the summit of the Franklin Mountains; thence by the summit of the said Franklin Mountains and the watershed of the Arthur River to a point on the south shore of Milford Sound opposite Dale Point; thence by a right line to the said Dale Point; and thence by the sea to the place of commencement. 6. All that area in the Southland Land District, being Section 1, Block I, Milford Sound District, and being the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 82, folio 97, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill. 7. A pond on the property of Mr J. L. Lethbridge, Tarras District: All that area in the Otago Land District, being a pond on the property of Mr John L. Lethbridge (Small Grazing Run 236U, Tarras Survey District). 8. Certain Sections in Tarras Survey District, the Property of Mr John Jenkins: All that area in the Otago Land District, being Sections 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24, and parts of Sections 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30, all of Block I, Tarras Survey District, the property of Mr John Jenkins.
