Boundaries of County of Castlepoint, County of Eketahuna, and County of Akitio Altered

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 7th day of October 1954 providing for the area described in the First Schedule thereto to be excluded from the County of Castlepoint and included in the County of Eketahuna and for the area described in the Second Schedule thereto to be excluded from the County of Castlepoint and included in the County of Akitio:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares:
(1) That as on and from the 1st day of April 1957 the area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Castlepoint and included in the County of Eketahuna.
(2) That as on and from the date aforesaid the area described in the Second Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Castlepoint and included in the County of Akitio.
(3) That the boundaries of the Counties of Eketahuna, Akitio, and Castlepoint as so altered shall be those set forth under the respective headings in the Third Schedule hereto.
(4) That the area added as aforesaid to the County of Eketahuna shall be included in the Alfredton Riding of that County.
(5) That the boundaries of the Alfredton Riding as so altered shall be those set forth in the Fourth Schedule hereto.
(6) That the area added as aforesaid to the County of Akitio shall be included in the Mataikona Riding of that County.
(7) That the boundaries of the Mataikona Riding as so altered shall be those set forth in the Fifth Schedule hereto.
(8) That the alteration of boundaries of the said Counties hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1956.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF CASTLEPOINT AND INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF EKETAHUNA

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point being the northernmost corner of part Lot 1 shown on plan numbered 9604 deposited in the Land Registry Office at Wellington, being also a point on the boundary of Castlepoint County as described in Gazette 1925, page 717; thence proceeding north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 186 and 161, Whareama Block, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Section 161 aforesaid and Sections 192, 193, and 194, Whareama Block, to the western corner of Section 14, Block XII, Puketoi Survey District; thence easterly along the southern boundaries of Sections 14, 15, 22, and 19, Block XII, Puketoi Survey District, the southern boundary of Lot 1 shown on the plan numbered 13267 deposited as aforesaid, across a public road and along the southern boundary of Lot 3 on the said plan numbered 13267 and the production of that boundary to the middle of the Pakowhai Stream; thence down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 477, Whareama Block; thence south-easterly to and along that south-western boundary, the south-western boundaries of Sections 476 and 475, Whareama Block, to the south-eastern corner of Section 21, Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District; thence westerly generally along the northern boundaries of Sections 25 and 22, Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District, and Section 1, Block IV, Mangapakeha Survey District, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of part Lot 1 shown on the plan numbered 9604 deposited as aforesaid to the northernmost corner of that lot, being the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF CASTLEPOINT AND INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF AKITIO

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point being the south-eastern corner of Section 19, Block XII, Puketoi Survey District, being also a point on the boundary of the Castlepoint County as described in Gazette 1925, page 717; thence proceeding northerly along the eastern boundary of Section 19 aforesaid to the north-eastern corner of that section; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 18 and 21, Block XII, Puketoi Survey District; thence southerly along the western boundary of Section 817, Whareama Block, to the northern boundary of Section 21, Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District; thence westerly along the said northern boundary to the south-east corner of Section 19 aforesaid, being the point of commencement.

THIRD SCHEDULE

COUNTY OF EKETAHUNA

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at Trig Station Arawaru; thence south-easterly along a right line to the intersection of the right bank of the Makakahi River with the production of the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Mangahao Survey District, to and along that boundary and the south western boundaries of Sections 1A and 5, Block III, Mangaone Survey District, the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 5, 4, and 3, Block III aforesaid, the south-western boundary of Section 4A, the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Section 33, the south-western boundaries of Sections 27 and 30, all of Block III aforesaid, the south-western boundary of Section 30A, Block IV, Mangaone Survey District, and the production of that boundary to the middle of the Mangaone Stream, down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 16, Block IV aforesaid, to and along that boundary and its production across Mangaone Valley Road, to and along the middle of Pa Valley Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 175, Rangitumau Block, to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Tiraumea River; up the middle of that river to a point due south of the intersection of the right bank of that river with the southern boundary of Section 65, Tiraumea Block, along a right line to that intersection and along the said southern boundary to the south-eastern corner of the said Section 65; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 65, 64, 63, 62, and 61, Tiraumea Block, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-easterly along a right line to Puketoi Trig. Station and along the summit of the Puketoi Range to Peg VIII as defined on the plan numbered 13610 lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington; thence south-easterly along the watershed by traverse lines defined as aforesaid to the northernmost corner of Section 23, Block III, Puketoi Survey District, along the north-eastern boundaries of Section 23 aforesaid, and the south-western boundaries of Sections 28 and 25, Block III aforesaid, to and along the western side of Hutiwai Road, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block IV, Puketoi Survey District, to and along that boundary and the south-western boundaries of Sections 4, 5, and 6, the southern boundaries of Sections 7 and 29, the south-western boundary of Section 28, all of Block IV aforesaid, to and along the north-western side of the Masterton-Weber via Alfredton Main Highway, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 7, Block VIII, Puketoi Survey District, to and along that boundary, the north-western and south-western boundaries of Section 29, and the south-western boundary of Section 28, both of Block V, Owahanga Survey District, the western boundary of Section 4, Block V aforesaid, to the northern side of Waihoki Valley Road; thence westerly along that road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block XII, Puketoi Survey District; thence southerly to and along that boundary, the western and southern boundaries of Section 16, Block XII aforesaid, the western boundaries of part Section 221, Akitio Block, and Section 19, Block XII aforesaid, to the south-western corner of that section; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 9, 19, again Section 9, Section 18, again Section 9, the northern and western boundaries of Section 27, the western and northern boundaries of Section 29, the northern boundaries of Sections 27, 28, and again 27, all of Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Pakowhai Stream, down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 27 aforesaid; thence southerly along that boundary to the south-eastern corner of that section; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of Sections 38 and 26, Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District, across a public road to and along the south-eastern, southern, and western boundaries of Section 10, and the western boundary of Section 16, both of Block XVI aforesaid, to the north-western-most corner of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 9604 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence south-westerly along the north-western and western boundaries of that lot, the northern boundaries of Section 824, Whareama District, and the production of that boundary to the middle of the Taueru River, down the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 149, Whareama District; thence north-westerly along a right line, crossing Wingate Road to and along the south-western and north-western boundaries of that section; the north-western boundary of Section 148, Whareama District, to the northernmost corner of that section; thence westerly along a right line to the southernmost corner of Lot 7 as shown on the plan numbered 1331 deposited as aforesaid; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of that lot and Lot 10 as shown on the said plan numbered 1331, to the northernmost corner of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 9135 deposited as aforesaid; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that lot, the north-western boundaries of Section 24, Rangitumau Block, Lot 3 as shown on the said plan numbered 9135, and Lots 2 and 1 as shown on the plan numbered 17545 deposited as aforesaid, to the easternmost corner of Section 17, Rangitumau Block; thence north-westerly generally along the north-eastern boundaries of that section and Sections 96, 95, 94, 93, 92, and 91 to Barton Road, along the south-eastern side of that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 17, Block XV, Mangaone Survey District, to and along that boundary and the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 18, 19, 20, and 29, Block XV aforesaid, to Baker
