Town and Country Planning Act 1953—County of Waikato
NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to section 20 (1) of
the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, approval has been
granted to the Waikato County Council to prepare, recommend,
and approve its district scheme by sections as follows:
Section 1: Hamilton Section: As described in the First
Schedule hereto.
Section 2: Rural Area Section: As described in the Second
Schedule hereto.
Section 3: Huntly Section: As described in the Third
Schedule hereto.
Section 4: Te Kauwhata Section: As described in the
Fourth Schedule hereto.
Section 5: Cambridge Section: As described in the Fifth
Schedule hereto.
Section 6: Ngaruawahia Section: As described in the Sixth
Schedule hereto.
Section 7: Taupiri Section: As described in the Seventh
Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
WAIKATO COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME—SECTION 1: HAMILTON
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at a point in Block XIII, Komakorau
Survey District, in the middle of the Waikato River due west
of the middle of the mouth of the Kirikiriroa Stream and
running easterly generally along a right line to and up the
middle of the Kirikiriroa Stream to and along the south-
western boundary of Lot 5 and the southern boundary of
Lot 4, both being of D.P. 8603, being part Allotments 132,
132A, 133, 142, 143, and 144, Kirikiriroa Parish, along the
generally south-western and southern boundaries of Lot 1,
D.P. 31062, being part Allotments 132 and 132A aforesaid,
and along a right line, being that southern boundary produced
to its intersection with another right line, being the
production northwards of the north-eastern boundary of the
Gravel Pit Reserve (Gazette 1914, page 1566), being part
Allotment 116 of the aforesaid parish; thence south-easterly
along a right line to and along the north-eastern boundary
of that part Allotment 116 and along another right line, being
the production southwards of the aforesaid north-eastern
boundary, to its intersection with a right line, being the
production eastwards of the northern boundary of Lot 1,
D.P. 32102, being part Allotment 126, Kirikiriroa Parish
aforesaid; thence westerly along that right line to and again
south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 1
aforesaid, 2, 3, 4, and 5, D.P. 32102, being part Allotment
126 aforesaid, to a point on the north-eastern boundary of
that Lot 5, at right angles to and 3 chains distant from the
northern side of Carrs Road; thence easterly along a right
line parallel to and 3 chains distant from that roadside to a
point in line with the eastern end of the aforesaid Carrs
Road; thence again southerly along a right line to and along
that road end, along a right line across Lot 1, D.P. 12771,
along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 4 and 5, D.P. 12771
aforesaid, along a right line across Lot 2, D.P. 12771 aforesaid, and along the north-eastern boundaries of Lot 3,
D.P. 12771, to Alderson Road, the aforesaid lots being parts
Allotments 202, 202A, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207, 208, 208A, 122,
123, 124, and 125, Kirikiriroa Parish; thence north-easterly
along that roadside and along the south-eastern boundaries
of Lot 2, D.P. 12771 aforesaid, and Lot 3, D.P. 3805, being
parts Allotments 121, 122, 123, 206, 207, 208, and 208A, and
the south-eastern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 36126, being parts
Allotments 121A, 206, 207, and 208, and part of the Loan and
Mercantile Grant, the aforesaid allotments being of the Parish
of Kirikiriroa, to and along the south-western and south-
eastern boundaries of part Lot 2, D.P. 25591, being parts of
the aforesaid Loan and Mercantile Grant, along the north-
eastern boundaries of Lot 62, D.P. 18626, the abutment of
Percival Road, Lots 36 and 15, D.P. 18626 aforesaid, being
parts Allotment 302 of the aforesaid parish, and along the
generally southern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 15962, being
part Allotment 302 aforesaid, to a point in line with the
north-eastern side of the Ruakura Junction Station Yards;
thence along a right line along that north-eastern side and
its production to the north-western side of the Hamilton-
Newstead road; thence along a right line to the northernmost
corner of part Lot 9, D.P. 11148, being part of Allotment 302
aforesaid, being an angle in the Hamilton-Newstead road;
thence along the south-western side of that road to and
along the north-western boundary of part Lot 10 and the
north-western and south-western boundaries of Lot 11, both
as shown on D.P. 11148 aforesaid, crossing an intervening
portion of the aforesaid Allotment 302, along the north-
western boundaries of Allotments 292 and part 340A, to and
along the generally north-eastern boundary of Allotment 410,
the south-western boundary of part Allotment 291A, and the
north-western and south-western boundaries of another part
of Allotment 291A and the south-western boundary of Allot-
ment 290, to and along a right line, being that boundary
produced to the south-eastern side of the Hamilton-Paeroa
State Highway; thence generally south-westerly along the
aforesaid south-western side to and along the generally
eastern side of the Hamilton-Matangi road to and down the
middle of the Mangaonua Stream to and down the middle of
the Waikato River to and north-easterly, north-westerly, and
then westerly along the generally south-eastern, north-eastern,
and northern boundaries of the City of Hamilton as described
in Gazette, No. 24, of the 14th day of April 1954, page 587,
to and down the middle of the Waikato River, being the
western boundary of the Waikato County as described in
Gazette, No. 62, of the 27th day of October 1949, page 2501,
to the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE
WAIKATO COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME—SECTION 2: RURAL AREA
ALL that area being the whole of the Waikato County as
described in Gazette, No. 62, of the 27th day of October
1949, page 2501, save and excepting thereout the Hamilton
Section as hereinbefore described and the Huntly, Te Kau-
whata, Cambridge, Ngaruawahia, and Taupiri Sections as
hereinafter described.
THIRD SCHEDULE
WAIKATO COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME—SECTION 3: HUNTLY
ALL that area situated in Blocks XI and XII, Rangiriri Survey
District, in the South Auckland Land District, bounded by a
line commencing at a point on the western side of Russell
Road in line with the south-eastern side of Ralph Road, and
running north-easterly along a right line to and along that
south-eastern side to and south-easterly along the south-
western boundary of the strip of land comprising parts of
Allotments 12, 11, 6, and 5, Taupiri Parish, and parts of the
bed of the Kimihia Lake, shown on S.O. Plan 34064 (the
old Taupiri Branch Railway), to the eastern boundary of the
said Allotment 5; thence southerly generally along that
eastern boundary, to and along the eastern boundaries of
Lots 41 and 37, D.P. S. 1158, being parts Allotment 4 of the
said parish, along a right line across Kimihia Road to and
along the eastern boundary of another part Allotment 4
aforesaid, along the south-eastern end of a public road, along
the south-eastern boundary of part Allotment 306 of the said
parish, and along a right line, being that boundary produced
to the northern shores of Lake Hakanoa; thence westerly
along those shores, to and northerly along the boundary of
the Borough of Huntly, as described in Gazette, No. 47, of
the 2nd day of September 1948, page 1107, to the point of
commencement.
FOURTH SCHEDULE
WAIKATO COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME—SECTION 4:
TE KAUWHATA
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at a point in Block XV, Maramarua
Survey District, being the south-eastern corner of Section 82,
Block XV aforesaid, and running south-easterly and north-
easterly along the generally northern boundary of the Te
Kauwhata Town District as described in Gazette, No. 70, of
the 10th day of November 1932, page 2260, to and along
the southern boundary of part Allotment 378 as shown on
D.P. 268, along a right line across Swan Road to and along
the southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 268 aforesaid, being
part Allotment 380, to a point at right angles to and 3 chains
distant from the eastern side of the aforesaid Swan Road as
shown on S.O. Plan 35634; thence southerly along a series
of right lines parallel to and 3 chains distant from the eastern
side of the aforesaid road to the northern side of the Te
Kauwhata—Waitakaruru Main Highway; thence along a right
line across that main highway to the road angle bearing
85° 17' and being 751·8 links distant from the north-western
corner of Section 54, Block XV aforesaid; thence along
another right line to a point due east and 4 chains distant
from the easternmost corner of Pa Street; thence westerly
along a right line to and south-westerly along the generally
southern boundary of the Te Kauwhata Town District herein-
before mentioned to a point on the north-eastern boundary
of part Section 86, Block XV aforesaid, 3 chains distant from
and at right angles to the southern side of the Te Kauwhata —
Waitakaruru Main Highway aforesaid; thence along a series
of right lines parallel to and 3 chains distant from the
southern side of the aforesaid main highway to and generally
north-westerly along the eastern side of the Auckland-
Hamilton State Highway to the westernmost corner of Section
37, Block XV aforesaid; thence north-easterly along the
north-western boundary of the Te Kauwhata Town District
hereinbefore mentioned to the point of commencement.
FIFTH SCHEDULE
WAIKATO COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME—SECTION 5: CAMBRIDGE
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at a point in Block IX, Cambridge
Survey District, being the south-western corner of Allotment
215, Hautapu Parish, as shown on D.P. 2181, and running
easterly along the southern boundary of that allotment and
along a right line, being that boundary produced across St.
Kilda Road, to a point 3 chains distant from and at right
angles to the eastern side of that road; thence southerly along
a right line parallel to and 3 chains distant from that eastern
side and then again easterly along another right line parallel
to and 3 chains distant from the northern side of the
Cambridge-Maungakawa road to a point in line with the
eastern boundary of Section 17; thence again southerly along
a right line crossing the aforesaid Cambridge-Maungakawa
road to and along that eastern boundary, the eastern boundary
of Section 18, and the eastern and southern boundaries of
Section 19, crossing the intervening portions of Section 6,
