Land Taken at Fox Glacier for Railway Purposes

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928 and the Government Railways Act 1949, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for railway purposes.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 31 perches. Being Lot 2, D.P. 1260, being part Rural Section 4063. Situated in Block XIII, Waiho Survey District, Westland County. (S.O. 4754.)
In the Westland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 14422 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Railways Commission at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 3rd day of December 1956.

At the Government House at Wellington this 28th day of November 1956 Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 28th day of October 1942 and published in the Gazette on the 6th day of November 1942, at page 2732, authorising William Davidson Irvine, of Wairoa Gorge, farmer, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity.

Investment of £8,500 of the Timaru Harbour Board's Funds C. W. M. NORRIE, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 28th day of November 1956 Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to section 53 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Timaru Harbour Board to invest the sum of £8,500 from its Renewal and Reserve Fund in debentures of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board Reticulation Loan No. 13 1954, £200,000, issue of £63,000, to bear interest at the rate of 4½ per cent, the sum of £4,100 to be invested in debentures maturing on the 15th day of October 1957, and the sum of £4,400 to be invested in debentures maturing on the 15th day of October 1958.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order in Council of the 23rd day of October 1956 published in the Gazette, 1 November 1956, No. 58, page 1470, by adding to the Schedule thereto after subclause (21) in the goods wharfage rates the following item:
“(21A) Sand shingle or metal per cubic yard … 1s.”

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Green Valley Rabbit District Order 1955.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. - The boundaries of the Green Valley Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 14th day of March 1956, are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE GREEN VALLEY RABBIT DISTRICT
All that area in the Otago Land District, and in the Counties of Waihemo, Maniototo, and Waitaki containing 76,010 acres, more or less, bounded as follows: commencing at Kakanui Peak on the south-western boundary of Kakanui Survey District; thence generally south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Waitaki County as described in Gazette 1954, page 1144, to the easternmost corner of Section 27, Block III, Waihemo Survey District; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Section 10, Block XV, Moeraki Survey District, and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 10, 8, 2, and 9, Block XV aforesaid; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of Section 4, Block XV aforesaid, and generally south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Section 16, across Park Hill Road, and along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 20 and 23, Block XV, Moeraki Survey District, situated in Makaraeo Settlement, and that boundary produced to the centre of the Shag River; thence generally westerly up the centre of the Shag River, to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 28, Block II, Dunback Survey District; thence westerly to and along that boundary and generally north-westerly along the western boundaries of Sections 27 and 10 and westerly along the northern boundary of Section 9, Block II, and south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that Section 9 to and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 2, 3, and 4, Block III, and north-westerly along the south-western boundary of that Section 4, to the south-eastern boundary of Block VI, Dunback Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the Middlemarch-Dunback Main Highway; thence north-westerly along the said highway to and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 9, Block VI aforesaid, to Golden Bar Road; thence generally south-easterly along the said road to the northern boundary of Block VII, Budle Survey District; thence westerly and south-westerly along that boundary to the northern boundary of Run 121G; thence generally westerly along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of Section 20, Block II, Budle Survey District; thence north-westerly along that boundary to and generally north-easterly along a road line forming the western boundaries of Sections 19 and 18, Block II, Budle Survey District, and Section 1, Block VII, Highlay Survey District, to the Middlemarch-Dunback Main Highway; thence generally north-westerly along the said highway to the western boundary of Section 7, Block VII aforesaid; thence northerly along the said boundary to the Horse Flat Road; thence generally north-easterly along the said road to the southern corner of Section 4, Block VII aforesaid; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the south-western and north-western boundaries of the said Section 4 to the western boundary of Section 3, Block VII aforesaid; thence northerly along that boundary to Matheson Road; thence north-easterly and north-westerly along the eastern side of Matheson Road to the southern boundary of Section 1, Block IV, Highlay Survey District; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of said Section 1, and Section 3, Block IV, Highlay Survey District; thence generally westerly, northerly, and easterly along the southern, western, and northern boundaries of Section 1, Block XIII, Swinburn Survey District, to the Shag River; thence north-easterly up the centre of the Shag River and the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block VI, Swinburn Survey District, to the Kakanui Peak, the point of commencement.
