Licensing the Ruawai Co-operative Dairy Company Limited to Use and Occupy a Part of the Bed of the Northern Wairoa River at Ruawai as a Site for a Pipeline

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby licenses and permits the Ruawai Co-operative Dairy Company Limited (hereinafter called the company, which term shall include its successors or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy a part of the bed of the Northern Wairoa River at Ruawai, as shown on plan marked M.D. 10114 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining thereon a pipeline as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the company upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
(1) This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.
(2) The premium payable by the company shall be five pounds (£5) and the annual sum so payable three pounds (£3).
(3) The pipeline shall be lighted.
(4) The term of the licence shall be fourteen years from the 1st day of December 1956.

Licensing Miss S. M. Stevenson to Use and Occupy a Part of the Foreshore and Bed of Lake Wakatipu as a Site for a Pipeline

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby licenses and permits Sheila May Stevenson (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include her administrators, executors, or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of Lake Wakatipu at Frankton, as shown on plan marked M.D. 10113 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining thereon a pipeline as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

Licensing the Albertland Cruising Club to Use and Occupy a Part of the Foreshore at Port Albert as a Site for a Landing Ramp

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby licenses and permits the Albertland Cruising Club (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include its successors or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Port Albert, as shown on plan marked M.D. 10117 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining thereon a landing ramp as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

Compensation Awarded to Owner of Licensed Premises (Greymouth Borough)

WHEREAS, on 20 May 1954 pursuant to section 45 of the Licensing Amendment Act 1943, the Licensing Control Commission gave notice by advertisement in the Gazette and in newspapers circulating in the Westland Licensing District of compensation awarded to the under-mentioned owner consequent upon cancellation of the publican’s licence in respect of the premises shown below:
And whereas the under-mentioned owner appealed to the Supreme Court under the provisions of section 65A of the said Act (as enacted by section 28 of the Licensing Amendment Act (No. 2) 1953):
Take notice that, by judgment dated 15 November 1956, the Supreme Court has modified the decision and award of compensation made by the Commission to such owner by awarding the following:
“Suburban” Hotel at Greymouth:
Robert Ford and Coy. Ltd., Hokitika, as owner, the sum of £15,093, together with the sum of £210 for the costs of the appeal, with disbursements for fees of Court, witnesses’ expenses, and other necessary payments to be fixed by the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Christchurch.
And further take notice that no person (other than the above-named person and other than a person claiming a lien as mortgagee) shall be entitled to receive the compensation or make any claim in respect of the compensation awarded unless notice in writing of such claim, stating whether compensation is claimed by him as owner or as licensee, is lodged with the Commission within six weeks of 29 November 1956, being the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette; and further take notice that any mortgagee from an owner or licensee shall, upon giving written notice to the Commission within one month after 29 November aforesaid, have a lien on the amount of compensation payable to the mortgagor for the amount of compensation payable to the mortgagor for the amount of the mortgage debt and any interest or other charges owing to the mortgagee under or in respect of the mortgage.
The previous awards of compensation and notice thereof advertised in the Gazette on 20 May 1954, insofar as they relate to the compensation awarded to the owner of the “Suburban” Hotel at Greymouth, are hereby revoked.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Tawa Flat taken on the 17th day of November 1956 on the proposal of the Tawa Flat Borough Council to borrow the sum of £5,200 for the purpose of carrying out stream improvement work within the Borough of Tawa Flat:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 590.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 487.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Queenstown taken on the 17th day of November 1956 on the proposal of the Queenstown Borough Council to borrow the sum of £30,000 for the purpose of erecting and furnishing a memorial hall and community centre including the purchase of land and culverting and filling in over a creek:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 116.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 112.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
