Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway

Pursuant to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The public highways described in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be main highways within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 3

ORUANUI–MOKAI: All that public highway in the County of Taupo commencing at its junction with the Tirau–Wairakei State Highway near the southern boundary of part Lot 11E 2, Tatua East Block, Block V, Tatua Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction to the settlement of Oruanui, and thence generally in a north-westerly direction through Blocks IV, II, and I, Tuhingamata West Survey District, and Block IV, Marotiri Survey District, and terminating at a point approximately 40 chains east of the Waipapa Trig. No. 1783 in Block XVI of the Whakamaru Survey District, being a distance of 12 miles 40 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 151838 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Whakamaru–Marotiri: All that public highway in the County of Taupo commencing at its junction with the Whakamaru–Mangakino Government Road at the north-east corner of Lot 1, D.P. S. 3925, Section 6, Block X, Whakamaru Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction through Blocks X and XIV, Whakamaru Survey District, and Blocks II and III, Marotiri Survey District, and terminating at a point approximately 40 chains north of Trig. 2010 in Tihoi 3B 8B, Section B, Block VII, Marotiri Survey District, being a distance of 11 miles, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 151839 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Atiamuri–Marotiri: All that public highway in the County of Taupo commencing at its junction with the Tirau–Wairakei State Highway at the settlement of Atiamuri, at Lot 3, D.P. 22337, Block VI, Te Atiamuri Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction through Blocks VI, X, and IX, Te Atiamuri Survey District, Block XVI, Whakamaru Survey District, and Blocks IV and III of the Marotiri Survey District, and terminating at a point approximately 40 chains north of Trig. 2010 in Tihoi 3B 8B, Section B, Block VII, Marotiri Survey District, being a distance of 23 miles, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated in plan P.W.D. 151840 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Revoking Designation of State Highway, Revoking Declaration of Main Highway, Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway, and Designating Main Highway to be State Highway

Pursuant to sections 11 and 12 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The portions of main highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be designated State highway.

  2. (1) The portions of public highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highway.

(2) The Order in Council made on the 12th day of May 1948* declaring (inter alia) the portion of public highway firstly described in the First Schedule hereto to be main highway is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to this portion of the said highway.

(3) The Order in Council made on the 2nd day of October 1940† declaring (inter alia) the portion of public highway secondly described in the First Schedule hereto to be main highway is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to this portion of the said highway.

  1. The portions of public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

  2. The portions of main highway described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby designated State highway. The portion firstly described shall form part of the Tirau–Wairakei State Highway and the portion secondly described shall form part of the Rotorua–Taupo State Highway.

  3. This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 3

ALL that portion of public highway in the County of Taupo commencing opposite the southern boundary of part Lot 11E 2, Tatua East Block, Block V, Tatua Survey District, and terminating at its junction with the Rotorua–Taupo State Highway on the eastern boundary of part Lot 4, part Wairakei Block, Block XIV, Tatua Survey District, declared as portion of the Tirau–Wairakei State Highway as described in Order in Council dated the 12th day of May 1948.*

All that portion of public highway in the County of Taupo commencing at the northern boundary of Lot 12, part Wairakei Block, Block X, Tatua Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction and terminating opposite the Wairakei Hotel in part Lot 1, part Wairakei Block, Block XIV, Tatua Survey District, declared as portion of the Rotorua–Taupo State Highway as described in Order in Council dated the 2nd day of October 1940†.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 3

TIRAU–WAIRAKEI: All that portion of public highway in the County of Taupo commencing opposite the southern boundary of part Lot 11E 2, Tatua East Block, Block V, Tatua Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction and terminating at its junction with the Rotorua–Taupo State Highway in part Lot 1, Block X, Tatua Survey District, being a distance of 6 miles 26 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150869 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Rotorua–Taupo: All that portion of public highway in the County of Taupo commencing at the northern boundary of Lot 12, part Wairakei Block, Block X, Tatua Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction and terminating opposite the Wairakei Hotel in part Lot 1, part Wairakei Block, Block XIV, Tatua Survey District, being a distance of 1 mile 51 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150869 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Deficiency Payments in Respect of Export Meat

Pursuant to the Meat Export Prices Act 1955, notice is hereby given that the deficiency payments set out in the Schedule hereto may be made to the owners in accordance with that Act for the classes of meat specified in the said Schedule for the week commencing on Monday, the 26th day of November 1956.

SCHEDULE

Chilled beef 1½d. per pound.
Ox and heifer quarter beef ⅔d. per pound.
Quarter cow beef ⅓d. per pound.

Infected Area Declared Under the Citrus Canker Regulations 1952 (Notice No. Ag. 6199)

Pursuant to the Citrus Canker Regulations 1952, it is hereby notified for public information that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto has been declared an infected area for the purposes of the said regulations.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land containing 30·35 perches, more or less, being Lot 5, D.P. 5827, and being part Section “W”, New Plymouth Town Belt.
