ZEALANDIA SOAP, CANDLE, AND TRADING COMPANY LIMITED
REDUCTION OF CAPITAL
In the matter of the Companies Act 1933, and in the matter of the Zealandia Soap, Candle, and Trading Company Limited, a duly incorporated company having its registered office at Belfast, near Christchurch, and carrying on business there as manufacturers and retailers of soap, candles, tallow, and other products.
NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to an order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Christchurch made on the 18th day of October 1956, a sealed copy of the said order and the following minute, approved by the Court, were registered with the Registrar of Companies at Christchurch on the 25th day of October 1956.

“That the capital of the Zealandia Soap, Candle, and Trading Company Limited was, by virtue of a special resolution and with the confirmation of an order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand dated the 18th day of October 1956, reduced from the former capital of £62,500 divided into 125,000 ordinary shares of 10s. each fully paid, to £31,250 divided into 125,000 ordinary shares of 5s. each fully paid. By virtue of the said special resolution confirmed by the said order, the capital of the Zealandia Soap, Candle and Trading Company Limited on the registration of this minute is £31,250 divided into 125,000 ordinary shares of 5s. each fully paid.”

GENERAL MOTORS ACCEPTANCE CORPORATION
PURSUANT to section 333 of the Companies Act 1933, notice is hereby given that General Motors Acceptance Corporation Incorporated, with limited liability in the State of New York in the United States of America, with Head Office for New Zealand at Lower Hutt, will cease to have a place of business in New Zealand on the expiration of three months from the first publication of this notice.
Following a rearrangement of its overseas business, the business now carried on by the corporation in New Zealand will, from 1 November 1956, be carried on as previously by General Motors Acceptance Corporation Limited Incorporated, with limited liability in the State of Delaware in the United States of America.

WAIRARAPA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
SPECIAL RATE
Reticulation Extension Loan 1956, £190,000, First Portion of £70,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wairarapa Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal and interest and other charges on the Reticulation Extension Loan 1956 of £190,000, first portion of £70,000, authorised to be raised by the Wairarapa Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the further reticulation of the Wairarapa Electric Power District, the said Wairarapa Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-fiftieths of one penny (7/50d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Wairarapa Electric Power District, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twelve years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board held on the 25th day of October 1956.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Reticulation Loan 1955, £10,000
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, at a meeting of the Wairoa Electric Power Board held on the 15th day of October 1956, the following resolution was passed:
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Wairoa Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the principal, interest, and other charges on the Board’s Reticulation Loan 1955, £10,000, authorised by the Wairoa Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of supplying and distributing electrical energy for the benefit of the Wairoa Electric Power District and for such purposes to do all or any of such matters and things which the Board is empowered to do by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925 and its amendments and by all other powers and authorities it enabling, the Wairoa Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of point nought three one eight of a penny (0·0318d.) in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Wairoa Electric Power District, such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully repaid.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Staff Housing Loan 1956, £5,300
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, at a meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council held on the 23rd day of October 1956, the following resolution was passed:
“That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Tauranga Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the principal, interest, and other charges of the council’s Staff Housing Loan 1956, £5,300, authorised to be raised by the Tauranga Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting two staff houses, the Tauranga Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought three nought three pence (0·0303d.) in the pound upon the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Tauranga, such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of March and the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully repaid.”
