HOWICK BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE is hereby given that, at a special meeting of the Howick Borough Council held on the 28th day of August 1956, the following resolution was passed and was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the Council held on the 27th day of September 1956:

"In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 53 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Howick Borough Council resolves by way of special order that the total number of members of the Council shall be reduced from eight (8) to six (6) as from the 17th day of November 1956, and the number of councillors to be elected on the said 17th day of November 1956 shall be elected in accordance with the provisions of this special order."

MOUNT ROSKILL BOROUGH COUNCIL

INCREASE IN NUMBER OF COUNCILLORS

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Mount Roskill Borough Council held on the 11th day of September 1956 the under-mentioned resolution was duly passed by way of special order, pursuant to section 53 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and was duly confirmed at a subsequent special meeting of the Council held on Tuesday, the 9th day of October 1956:

"That, as from and inclusive of the election of councillors to be held on the 17th day of November 1956, the total number of councillors shall be twelve (12), exclusive of the Mayor."

BOROUGH OF PAPATOETOE

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Papatoetoe Borough Council, at its meeting held on the 2nd day of October 1956, has resolved to prepare for the whole of the Papatoetoe Borough a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked "Papatoetoe District Scheme" should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered to the Town Clerk's office on or before the 7th day of January 1957.

And, as the preparation of the above-mentioned district scheme will involve a cancellation of the existing district scheme adopted under the Town Planning Act 1926 and now in force and operative in part of the Borough of Papatoetoe, public notice is hereby further given that the Papatoetoe Borough Council proposes, pursuant to section 29 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, to cancel the existing district scheme now in force and operative in that part of the Borough of Papatoetoe which comprised the former Papatoetoe Town District.

A copy of the said operative scheme has been deposited in the Council's office and in the public library and may be inspected without fee by any person who so requires at any time when those places are open to the public.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in connection with the proposed cancellation. Proposals marked "Cancellation of Operative Scheme" should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered at the Town Clerk's office or on before the 7th day of January 1957.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waikohu County Council, at its meeting held on the 17th day of September 1956, has resolved to prepare for the Waikohu County a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked "Waikohu County District Scheme" should be addressed to the County Clerk and delivered at the County Clerk's office, Te Karaka, on or before the 31st day of December 1956.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Otorohanga Borough Council, at its meeting held on the 27th day of September 1956, has resolved to prepare for the Otorohanga Borough a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked "Otorohanga Borough District Scheme" should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered at the Town Clerk's office on or before the 28th day of February 1957.

AUCKLAND METROPOLITAN DRAINAGE BOARD

SPECIAL ORDER

Loan No. 19 1954, £2,700,000—4th Issue £300,000

THE Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Board doth hereby, in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Act 1944, and in pursuance of the authority conferred on it under the Local Bodies' Finance Act 1921–22, the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, and their respective amendments, and in exercise of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, resolve by special resolution intended to operate as a special order to borrow the sum of three hundred thousand pounds (£300,000) as a special loan and to be portion of a special loan known as Loan No. 19 1954, £2,700,000, to be applied for the purpose of constructing the first portion of the Manukau scheme of main drainage for the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage District, including more particularly the construction of portions of the main sewers, pumping stations, treatment plant, workshop, the manufacture or acquisition of pipes, plant, and other necessary assets, and the carrying out of works connected with or incidental to the scheme, the payment of preliminary expenses, including fees and investigational costs, and meeting loan costs.

The foregoing special order was made by way of a special resolution passed at a meeting of the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Board and held on the 5th day of September 1956. It was publicly notified in the Auckland Star on the 15th and 29th days of September 1956. It was confirmed at a meeting of the Board convened by resolution of the Board on the 3rd day of October 1956.

The Common Seal of the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Board was hereto affixed this 3rd day of October 1956 in the presence of:

FRANKLIN ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Reticulation Loan 1956, £80,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, and all other powers thereunto enabling, the Franklin Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the principal, interest, and other charges on the Board's Reticulation Loan 1956, of £80,000, authorised to be raised under the above Act for the purpose of supplying and distributing electrical energy for the benefit of the Franklin Electric Power District and for such purpose to do all or any of such matters and things which the Board is empowered to do by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925 and its amendments and by all other powers and authorities it enabling, the Franklin Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-tenth of a penny in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Franklin Electric Power District, such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of November in each and every year, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully repaid."

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Franklin Electric Power Board held on the 26th day of September 1956.
