ELLERSLIE BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES
1437 B. War Memorial Community Centre Loan 1956, £4,000
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Ellerslie Borough Council resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £4,000 authorised to be raised by the Ellerslie Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing funds for erecting a war memorial community centre, the Ellerslie Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal five pence (0·5d.) in the pound on the annual value of all rateable property in the Borough of Ellerslie, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such special loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid."
1438 B. Pensioners' Flats Loan 1956, £26,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Ellerslie Borough Council resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £26,000 authorised to be raised by the Ellerslie Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing funds for erecting pensioners' flats, the Ellerslie Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one decimal nine five pence (1·95d.) in the pound on the annual value of all rateable property in the Borough of Ellerslie, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such special loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid."
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy and extract of the minutes passed by the Ellerslie Borough Council on 18 September 1956.

ALEXANDRA BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
"THAT, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,400 to be known as Pensioners' Flats Loan 1956, authorised to be raised by the Alexandra Borough Council under the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 for the purpose of erecting two double-unit pensioners' flats, the said Alexandra Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-thirds of a penny (£d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Alexandra, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

CLUTHA COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Clutha County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of twenty thousand pounds (£20,000) authorised to be raised by the Clutha County Council under the above-named Act for rural housing, the Clutha County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fourteen-hundredths of a penny in the pound (14/100d. in the pound) upon the rateable (unimproved) value of all rateable property of the whole of the County of Clutha; and that such special rate shall be an actually recurring rate during the currency of such loan until such loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Clutha County Council held on 28 August 1956.

THE ST. JOHN'S COLLEGE TRUST AMENDMENT ACT 1956
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY FOR LEAVE TO BRING IN A PRIVATE BILL
NOTICE is hereby given that the St. John's College Trust Board intends to apply by petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand during the present session for the passing of a private Bill intituled An Act to Amend the St. John's College Trust Act 1923, the short title of which shall be The St. John's College Trust Amendment Act 1956, to give effect to the following object, namely: to permit the Board at its discretion from time to time to apply the whole or such portion as it thinks fit of the income from the Scholarship Funds referred to in the First Schedule of the principal Act towards the maintenance and support of candidates for Holy Orders whilst taking a course of studies for a degree or diploma at any university or university college within New Zealand approved by the Board.
Copies of the proposed Bill will, on or before the 5th day of September 1956, be deposited at the office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, and at the offices of the St. John's College Trust Board, 40 Shortland Street, Auckland, where the said copies may be inspected and obtained.
