area of Crown land, Allotment 355, and Allotment 340, the
aforesaid allotments being of Waimana Parish aforementioned,
along the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P.S. 2181, being part
Sections 6 and 9, Block II, Waimana Survey District, to the
northern boundary of part Ruatoki No. 1B 2U 3 Block; thence
westerly generally along the aforesaid northern boundary to
and along the northern boundaries of parts Ruatoki
Nos. 1B 2A, 1B 2C 2, 1B 2J 2, 1B 2H, 1B 2B 3, 1B 2T 3,
1B 2U 11, 1B 2U 12, 1B 2U 7, 1B 2U 6, 2B 1, 2B 2, and 2B 11
Blocks crossing the intervening public roads and the Whaka-
tane and Owhakatoro Rivers to the south-western corner of
Allotment 41B 10D, Rangitaiki Parish, in Block IV, Rangi-
taiki Lower Survey District; thence northerly, easterly, and
again northerly along the eastern boundary of the Rangitaiki
Riding and the southern and eastern boundaries of the
Omataroa Riding as hereinbefore described to the point of
commencement.
OHOPE RIDING
All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at a point in Block II, Whakatane
Survey District, on the shores of the Bay of Plenty in line
with the southern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. S. 2301, being part
Allotment 245, Waimana Parish, and running generally east-
erly and southerly along the boundary of the Whakatane
County, as described in Gazette No. 52 of the 10th day of
August 1950, page 1566, to a point in Block XI of the afore-
said survey district in line with the south-western boundary
of Allotment 182A, Waimana Parish; thence westerly generally
along a right line to and along that south-western boundary
to and along the northern side of Stanley Road and along a
right line, being the last-mentioned roadside produced across
McCoy's Road, to and along the eastern and northern boun-
daries of Allotment 321, the northern boundary of Allotment
357, and along a right line, being that boundary produced
across a public road, to and along the eastern and northern
boundaries of Allotment 377, the said allotments being of
Waimana Parish aforesaid, to the eastern boundary of the
Taneatua Riding hereinbefore described; thence generally
northerly along that eastern boundary and the south-eastern
boundary of the Whakatane Borough aforementioned to the
point of commencement.
WAIMANA RIDING
All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at a point in Block IX, Whakatane
Survey District, being the north-western corner of Allotment
377, Waimana Parish, and running easterly along the southern
boundary of the Ohope Riding hereinbefore described to and
southerly along the eastern boundary of the Whakatane
County hereinbefore mentioned to a point in Block IV, Wai-
mana Survey District, being the north-eastern corner of Wai-
mana No. 1C 1B Block; thence generally westerly along the
northern boundaries of Waimana Nos. 1C 1B aforesaid and
1C 1C 1A Blocks, crossing three intervening public roads, to
and up the right bank of the Waimana River to a point in
line with the northern boundary of Waimana No. 1C 1A 1B
Block; thence along a right line to and along the northern
and western boundaries of the last-mentioned block, the west-
ern boundaries of Waimana Nos. 1C 1A 2, 1C 1A 3A 1, 1C 1A 3A 2A,
1C 1A 3A 2B, 1C 1A 3A 3, 1C 1A 3B 2, and 1C 1A 3B 1 Blocks, the
northern boundaries of Waimana No. 1D 1B 2B 1 Block, and
Section 3, Block VII, Waimana Survey District, aforesaid, the
northern boundaries of Te Paotamaruarangi Block, the north-
ern side of a public road, the northern and western boun-
daries of Wahatane Block, the generally western boundaries
of Otekura Block, Section 1, Block VII, and Section 1, Block
XI, of the aforesaid survey district to and northerly along the
eastern boundaries of part Urewera A Block, Tuturitanga
Block, and Te Pohue No. 2 Block, and along a right line,
being that last-mentioned boundary produced to and along
the north-western side of a public road to and along
the eastern boundaries of Tapatahi Block, parts Ruatoki Nos.
1B 1A, 1A 1, again 1B 1A, 1B 2U 1, and 1B 2U 2 Blocks and the
eastern and northern boundaries of part Ruatoki No. 1B 2U 11
Block and the northern boundary of part Ruatoki No. 1B 2U 3
Block to the south-eastern corner of Section 5, Block II,
Waimana Survey District; thence generally northerly along
the eastern boundary of the Taneatua Riding hereinbefore
described to the point of commencement.
UREWERA RIDING
All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at a point in Block XV, Rangitaiki
Upper Survey District, on the left bank of the Rangitaiki
River, being the north-eastern corner of part Matahina A
No. 1D Block, and running easterly generally along the south-
ern boundaries of the Rangitaiki and Taneatua Ridings herein-
before described and the western and southern boundaries of
the Waimana Riding hereinbefore described to and southerly
and then westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries
of the Whakatane County hereinbefore mentioned to and
northerly along the eastern boundary of the Galatea Riding
hereinbefore described to the point of commencement.

Special Order Made by Hawke's Bay County Council
Atering Riding Boundaries
PURSUANT to section 100 of the Counties Act 1920 as amended
by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act 1921–22, the
Minister of Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following
special order and fixes the 8th day of October as the date
on which the said special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by
section 23 of the Counties Act 1920, the Hawke’s Bay
County Council hereby resolves by way of special order
that, as from a date to be fixed by the Minister of Internal
Affairs and notified in the Gazette at the time of publication
of this resolution as a special order in the said Gazette,
the Clive, Havelock, Heretaunga, Maraekakaho, Meeanee,
Okawa, Petane, Poukawa, Puketapu, Waikare, and Waima-
rama Ridings of the Hawke’s Bay County be altered, as
described in the attached Schedule.
SCHEDULE
WAIKARE RIDING
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Hawke’s
Bay County, bounded by a line commencing at a point on
the sea coast in Block VIII, Puketapu Survey District, being
also the south-eastern corner of Pakuratahi 1B 4 Block; thence
westerly generally along the southern boundary of that
block, the crossing of the Gisborne-Napier via Hangaroa
State Highway, the southern boundaries of Pakuratahi 1B 1,
1L 2, and 1L 1 Blocks and the south-eastern boundaries of
Sections 8, 9, and 7, Block VIII, Puketapu Survey District,
to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned Section 7;
thence north-westerly generally along the south-western
boundaries of the said Section 7 and of Sections 6, 13, and 11,
Block VIII, Puketapu Survey District, the crossing of Wai-
punga Road, and along the south-western boundaries of
Sections 11 and 28, Block IV, Puketapu Survey District, in-
cluding the crossings of Waipunga Road, to the southernmost
corner of Section 4, Block III, Puketapu Survey District;
thence westerly generally along the southern boundary of that
section, the crossing of Waipunga Road, and along the south-
ern boundary of Section 1, Block III, Puketapu Survey Dis-
trict, including the crossing of Kaiwaka South Road, Service
Road, and the East Coast Main Trunk Railway, and along
the production of the southern boundary of the said
Section 1 to the middle of the Esk River; thence down the
middle of that river to its confluence with the Otakowhai
Stream; thence up the middle of that stream and the Kai-
waka Stream to a point in line with the western boundary
of Section 6, Block III, Puketapu Survey District, running
south from a peg numbered II on the plan numbered 1788
lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Napier; thence
northerly to and along that boundary and its production
to the northern side of a public road forming, in part, the
south-western boundary of the aforementioned Section 6;
thence north-westerly generally along that roadside to the
westernmost corner of the said Section 6; thence along a
line due north across the old Taupo Coach Road to its
northern side; thence westerly generally along that roadside,
being also the southern boundary of S.G. Runs 105 and 104,
to a point in line with the northern boundary of Taupo
Road Rural Section 13 in Block XIII, Maungaharuru Survey
District; thence again westerly to and along that boundary
to the north-eastern corner of Block 70, Puketapu Crown
Grant District; thence north-westerly generally along the
north-eastern boundaries of that block and of Section 89,
Block XIII, Maungaharuru Survey District, to and across
the old Taupo Coach Road to the northern side thereof;
thence westerly generally along that roadside to the south-
eastern corner of Section 102, Block XIII, Maungaharuru
Survey District; thence north-westerly generally along the
north-eastern boundaries of that section to and across the
Okurakura Road to the south-western boundary of Section 88,
Block XIII, Maungaharuru Survey District; thence north-
westerly along that boundary to the south-eastern corner
of Lot 4 on plan numbered 3072 deposited in the office of
the District Land Registrar at Napier; thence westerly
generally along the southern boundaries of the said Lot 4
and of Lot 2 on the said plan numbered 3072 to the south-
ernmost corner of Lot 1 on the plan numbered 7837 deposited
as aforesaid; thence north-westerly along the south-western
boundaries of the said Lot 1 and of part Lot 2 and Lot 1
on the previously mentioned plan numbered 3072 and north-
easterly generally along the north-western boundaries of the
last-mentioned Lot 1, of part Blocks 25 and 26, Patoka
Crown Grant District, and of Section 90, Block XIII,
Maungaharuru Survey District, to the western boundary of
Lot 1 on the plan numbered 3979 deposited as aforesaid;
thence northerly generally along the western boundaries of the
last-mentioned Lot 1 and of Lot 1 on the plan numbered
3831 deposited as aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of
Section 4A, Block IX, Maungaharuru Survey District, in-
cluding the crossings of a road deviation shown on plan
numbered 427 green lodged as aforesaid, and of a public
road; thence north-westerly generally along the south-western
