Reapportioning Representation on the Te Awamutu Electric Power Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 2nd day of October 1956
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby determines as follows:

  1. This Order in Council shall come into force on the date of the next general election of members of local authorities.
  2. The number of representatives of each constituent district of the Te Awamutu Electric Power District on the Te Awamutu Electric Power Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district.
  3. The constituent districts which are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be a combined district for the purposes of the said Act.
  4. The local authority of the constituent district distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter “(P)” shall be the principal local authority of the combined district of which it forms a part.
  5. The Order in Council dated the 12th day of April 1938 and published in the Gazette on the 13th day of the same month, at page 933, reapportioning representation on the Te Awamutu Electric Power Board, is hereby revoked.
  6. The Order in Council dated the 16th day of May 1939 and published in the Gazette on the 25th day of the same month, at page 1539, amending the said Order in Council dated the 12th day of April 1938, is hereby revoked.

PURSUANT to section 11 of the Housing Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the access way described in the First Schedule hereto and the service lanes described in the Second Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Lower Hutt, and be under the control and management of the Lower Hutt City Council.
