At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 2nd day of October 1956

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government road.

The Northern Side of Portion of Southwark Street, in the City of Christchurch, Exempted from the Provisions of Section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 2nd day of October 1956

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby approves of the resolution passed by the Christchurch City Council on the 16th day of July 1956, and set out in the First Schedule hereto, in so far as it affects the side of street described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

THE Christchurch City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Christchurch, by resolution declares that the provisions of section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928 shall not apply to the northern side of the portion of Southwark Street adjoining part Town Reserve 7, being all of the land contained in certificate of title, Volume 373, folio 119, City of Christchurch.

SECOND SCHEDULE

THE northern side of all that street in the Canterbury Land District, City of Christchurch, known as Southwark Street, fronting part of Town Reserve 7, and being more particularly described in conveyance Registered No. 133270 (214/220).

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 151637 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Declaring Portion of the Pururu Farm Settlement Road in the Waitomo County to be County Road

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 2nd day of October 1956

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become county road.

SCHEDULE

ALL that portion of road in the South Auckland Land District situated in Block XIII, Mangaoronga Survey District, Waitomo County, commencing at the north-western corner of Section 20 of the aforesaid Block XIII, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction generally for a distance of approximately 22 chains and terminating at its junction with a public road on the eastern boundary of Section 19 of the aforesaid Block XIII. (S.O. 36442.)

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 151675 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red and marked B-A.

Varying the Apportionment of Representation on the Nelson Catchment Board, and Increasing the Membership of the Board by One

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the City of Nelson and the Borough of Richmond shall cease to be a combined district for the purposes of the said Act; and hereby further declares that the City of Nelson shall be entitled to two representatives on the Nelson Catchment Board and that the Borough of Richmond shall be entitled to one representative on the Nelson Catchment Board; and hereby further declares that the number of elective members of the Nelson Catchment Board shall be increased from nine to ten; and the Order in Council dated the 11th day of August 1943, and published in the Gazette, 12 August 1943, Volume II, at page 975, as amended by the Order in Council dated the 13th day of August 1947 and published in the Gazette, 14 August 1947, Volume II, at page 987, and by the Order in Council dated the 13th day of April 1955 and published in the Gazette, 21 April 1955, Volume I, at page 680, is hereby further amended accordingly.

Amending Order in Council Licensing Horace Tomkies to Use and Occupy a Part of the Bed of the Lake at Bob’s Cove, Lake Wakatipu, as a Site for a Jetty

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends, as from the 1st day of April 1957, the Order in Council dated the 30th day of November 1955 and published in the Gazette, 8 December 1955, No. 75, page 1880, licensing Horace Tomkies to use and occupy a part of the bed of the lake at Bob’s Cove, Lake Wakatipu, as a site for a jetty, by omitting from clause 3 in the Schedule the words and figures “ten pounds (£10)” and substituting the words and figures “three pounds (£3)”.
