Act 1954 but subject to the provisions of section 10 (2) of
the Taranaki Harbour Board Empowering Act 1955; and that
the amount of such special rate shall be:
“$(a)$ One penny in the pound upon the capital value of all
rateable property in Rating Area No. 1 described in
the First Schedule to the Taranaki Harbour Board
Empowering Act 1955;
“$(b)$ Two-thirds of a penny in the pound upon the capital
value of all rateable property in Rating Area No. 2
described in the Second Schedule to the Taranaki
Harbour Board Empowering Act 1955;
“$(c)$ One-third of a penny in the pound upon the capital
value of all rateable property in Rating Area No. 3
described in the Third Schedule to the Taranaki
Harbour Board Empowering Act 1955 but subject
as aforesaid to the provisions of section 10 (2) of
the Taranaki Harbour Board Empowering Act 1955;
and that such special rate shall be for the year commencing
on the 1st day of October 1955, and ending on the 30th day
of September 1956, and shall be an annually recurring rate
for each year thereafter during the currency of the said loan
and until the said loan is fully paid off; and that such special
rate shall be payable in one sum on the 30th day of September
in each and every year during the currency of the said
loan and until the said loan is fully paid off.”

TARANAKI HARBOUR BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

“THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested
in it by the Harbours Act 1950, the New Plymouth
Harbour Board Empowering Act 1951, the New Plymouth
Harbour Board Empowering Amendment Act 1952, the Taranaki
Harbour Board Act 1954, the Taranaki Harbour Board
Empowering Act 1954, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and
of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Taranaki Harbour
Board hereby resolves that for the purpose of providing
the redemption payments payable in respect of the loan of
£325,840, being the second issue of the New Plymouth Harbour
Board Loan No. 5, 1954, of £485,000 authorised to
be raised by the Board by the terms of an Order in Council
made on the 29th day of August 1955 and published in the
New Zealand Gazette, No. 57, of the 8th day of September
1955, at page 1405, and the interest and other charges thereon,
the said loan of £325,840 being for the purposes of the demolition
of the existing Moturoa Wharf and the construction of
a new wharf in its place, including site and approach dredging,
improvement of access, and provision of necessary plant and
equipment, the Board hereby makes and levies a special rate
upon all rateable property within the Board’s Harbour District
as defined in the Fourth Schedule to the Taranaki
Harbour Board Act 1954, and that the amount of such special
rate shall be:
“$(a)$ One penny in the pound upon the capital value of all
rateable property in Rating Area No. 1 described in
the First Schedule to the Taranaki Harbour Board
Empowering Act 1955;
“$(b)$ Two-thirds of a penny in the pound upon the capital
value of all rateable property in Rating Area No. 2
described in the Second Schedule to the Taranaki
Harbour Board Empowering Act 1955;
“$(c)$ One-third of a penny in the pound upon the capital
value of all rateable property in Rating Area No. 3
described in the Third Schedule to the Taranaki
Harbour Board Empowering Act 1955;
and that such special rate shall be for the year commencing

TOWN DISTRICT OF WARKWORTH

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Warkworth Town
Council at a meeting held on Thursday, the 22nd day of
September 1955, has resolved to prepare for the Warkworth
Town District a district scheme as required by the provisions
of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.
The scheme will deal with:

  1. The zoning or definition of areas to be used exclusively
    or principally for specified purposes or classes of purpose.
  2. The preservation of objects and places of historical
    interest of natural beauty.
  3. The designation of reserves and proposed reserves for
    civic, cultural, and community purposes, for recreation
    grounds, ornamental gardens, parks, and children’s playgrounds, and for open spaces.
  4. The designation of open spaces for purposes of value to
    the community on land not intended to be owned by the
    Council.
  5. Public access from place to place, car parks, transport
    terminals, and public transport systems, including their
    creation, establishment, closing, removal, alteration, and diversion,
    traffic routeing, the co-ordination of street widths with
    land uses and population densities, off-street provision for
    vehicles while being loaded or unloaded or standing, the
    fixing of building lines in relation to highways.
  6. Sewerage, drainage, and sewage and rubbish disposal.
  7. Lighting and water supply.
  8. Buildings, with particular reference to:
    $(a)$ Their position on allotment and in relation to any
    highway and to other buildings.
    $(b)$ Their density, use, character, height, and harmony in
    design and external appearance.
    $(c)$ Verandas in commercial streets.
    $(d)$ Open space about buildings.
    $(e)$ The fixing of building lines for amenity and other
    purposes.
  9. Provision and preservation of amenities, including regulation
    and control of outdoor advertising displays.
  10. Control of subdivision.
  11. Land subdivisional standards in relation to any permitted use.
  12. Minimum-site areas and dimensions in relation to uses
    of land and buildings.
  13. Ancillary or consequential works and all other matters
    involving the principles of town and country planning.
    Every person and every local authority in the district is
    hereby invited to submit in respect of the above matters
    suggestions which in his or their opinion should be considered
    in the preparation of the proposed scheme.
    Proposals marked “Warkworth Town Council District
    Scheme” should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered
    at the Town Clerk’s office on or before 7 December 1955.

    opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the
    proposed scheme.
