Reapportioning Representation on the North Canterbury
Electric Power Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 29th day of August 1956
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby determines as follows:

  1. This Order in Council shall come into force on the date of the next general election of members of local authorities (hereinafter referred to as “the specified date”).
  2. The number of representatives of each constituent district of the North Canterbury Electric Power District on the North Canterbury Electric Power Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district.
  3. The constituent districts which are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be combined districts for the purposes of the said Act.
  4. The local authority of each constituent district distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter “(P)” shall be the principal local authority of the combined district of which it forms a part.
  5. The first election of the representative of the combined district of part Eyre County, part Waimairi County, and part Kaiapoi Borough shall be held on the specified date.
  6. The Order in Council dated the 26th day of May 1953 and published in the Gazette on the 4th day of June 1953 at page 873, reapportioning representation on the North Canterbury Electric Power Board, is hereby revoked.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby determines as follows:

  1. This Order in Council shall come into force on the date of the next general election of members of local authorities.
  2. The number of representatives of each constituent district of the Hutt Valley Electric Power District on the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district.
  3. The constituent districts which are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be combined districts for the purposes of the said Act.
  4. The local authority of each constituent district distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter “(P)” shall be the principal local authority of the combined district of which it forms a part.
  5. The Order in Council dated the 9th day of September 1953 and published in the Gazette on the 10th day of the same month at page 1471, reapportioning representation on the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board, is hereby revoked.

Amending a Licence Authorising Ian Hugh Cameron, of “The Camden”, Blenheim, Farmer, to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

At the Government House at Wellington this 29th day of August 1956
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends, as set forth in the Schedule hereto, the Order in Council dated the 15th day of May 1951 and published in the Gazette on the 17th day of the same month at page 672, authorising Ian Hugh Cameron, of “The Camden”, Blenheim, Farmer, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity.

SCHEDULE

Clause 6 of the conditions hereof is deleted, and the following clause is substituted therefor:

“6. System of Supply
“The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and shall be a direct-current system.”

Authorising the Central Waikato Electric Power Board to Invest Moneys in Certain Local Body Securities

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Electric Power Boards Amendment Act 1927 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the investment in debentures of the Hamilton City Council, bearing interest at 4¾ per cent and maturing on the 1st day of September 1964, of the sum of four hundred pounds (£400), the said sum having been received in terms of section 30 of the said Act by the Central Waikato Electric Power Board.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government road.
