At the Government House at Wellington this 22nd day of August 1956
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

At the Government House at Wellington this 22nd day of August 1956
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the 7th day of March 1956, consent was given to the raising in New Zealand by the Hutt Valley Drainage Board (hereinafter called the said local authority) of the sum of seventy thousand pounds being portion of a loan of one hundred and ten thousand pounds known as “Sewer Extension Loan 1954”:
And whereas the said local authority, pending the raising of portion of the said amount of seventy thousand pounds amounting to three thousand pounds (hereinafter called the said sum), is desirous of borrowing the said sum or part thereof by hypothecation or mortgage, pursuant to section 34 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, of the debentures authorised to be issued in respect of the said sum:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 7 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act 1932–33 and section 8 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Amendment Act 1933, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the said local authority, pending the raising of the said sum in accordance with the determinations of the Local Government Loans Board, borrowing the said sum or any part thereof by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures for a term not exceeding two years and at a rate of interest not exceeding 4½ per cent per annum.

Revoking a Previous Order in Council and Reapportioning Representation on the Ashburton Electric Power Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 29th day of August 1956
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes, as from the date of the next general local body elections, the Order in Council dated the 23rd day of September 1953, and published in the Gazette on the 24th day of the same month at page 1548, reapportioning representation on the Ashburton Electric Power Board, and in lieu thereof hereby determines as follows:

The number of representatives of each constituent district of the Ashburton Electric Power District on the said Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district.

The constituent districts which are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be a combined district for the purposes of the said Act.

The local authority of the constituent district distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter “(P)” shall be the principal local authority of the said combined district.
