Notice of Intention to Take Land in the Township of Tokaanu for Sewage Treatment Purposes
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a sewage treatment plant, and for the purposes of that public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Tokaanu and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the execution of the public work or to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing, and send the writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence, issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the persons described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder, may authorise them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise them, while they are under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Special Order Made by Grey County Council Altering Riding Boundaries and Adjusting Representation
PURSUANT to section 100 of the Counties Act 1920, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act 1921–22, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Grey County Council, and fixes the 8th day of October 1956 as the date on which the said special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER
IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 23 and 60 of the Counties Act 1920, and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, the Grey County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:
“1. That the Grey County Council shall consist of nine members, who shall be elected as follows:
“(a) The electors of the North Riding shall elect three councillors:
“(b) The electors of the East Riding shall elect four councillors:
“(c) The electors of the South Riding shall elect two councillors.
“2. That the area of Te Kinga, Rotomanu, Inchbonnie, Poerua, Mitchells, Taramakau Settlement to the Taramakau River, and also the built-up area of Kaiata, be transferred from the South Riding to the East Riding, and that the boundaries of the said ridings be those as are more particularly described in the Schedule hereto.
“3. The alteration hereby made shall take effect on and after the next general election of councillors on the 17th day of November 1956, or such other date as the Minister of Internal Affairs shall decide.”
The foregoing special order having been passed at a special meeting held on 29 March 1956, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on 10 May 1956, the common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Grey was by resolution of the said Council hereunto affixed this 12th day of July 1956.

EAST RIDING
ALL that area in the County of Grey, Westland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Taramakau River in Block XII, Waimea Survey District, on the southern side of the Kumara–Haupiri Junction Main Highway No. 624, such point being on the boundary of the County of Grey; thence generally easterly along the southern side of the aforesaid main highway to the south-western boundary of Rural Section 2084, situated in Block XI, Hohonu Survey District; thence along the south-western boundary of Rural Section 2084, the south-eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 2084, 2082, and 2487, the southern and eastern boundaries of Rural Section 3122 to a point on the southern side of the aforementioned Kumara–Haupiri Junction Main Highway No. 624; thence again generally easterly along the southern side of the aforesaid main highway to a point in the middle of Carew Creek; thence north-easterly by a right line across Lake Brunner to the easternmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 53, in Block VIII, Hohonu Survey District; thence northerly and westerly along the eastern and northern boundaries of the said Lot 1, D.P. 53, to a point on the eastern side of a public road at the north-western corner of the aforesaid Lot 1; thence generally northerly along the eastern side of the said public road, to and along the eastern boundaries of part Reserve 1605 and Reserve 1946 and again part Reserve 1605 aforesaid to its north-eastern corner; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of part Reserve 1605 aforesaid, Rural Sections 1599 and 1468, and along a right line being the production of the last-mentioned boundaries, across a public road to the eastern boundary of Rural Section 1365; thence northerly and westerly along the eastern and northern boundaries of the said Rural Section 1365 and a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced across Kaiata Road to a point on its western side; thence southerly along the western side of the said Kaiata Road to the northern boundary of Rural Section 1471; thence westerly, southerly, and again westerly along the northern, western, and northern boundaries of the said Rural Section 1471 to Clifton Road; thence by a right line across the said Clifton Road to and along the northern boundary of Rural Section 1442 and along a right line being the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Omotomoto Creek; thence generally northerly along the middle of the said creek to a point in line with the northern boundary of Rural Section 1389; thence along a right line to and along the northern boundary of the said Rural Section 1389 to the Omotomoto–Marsden road; thence along a right line across the said road to the south-eastern corner of part Rural Section 3058; thence westerly along the northern side of a public road to the eastern boundary of Reserve 992; thence generally northerly along the eastern boundaries of Reserve 992 to the southernmost corner of Reserve 1788; thence north-easterly and north-westerly along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the said Reserve 1788 to the south-eastern boundary of the Borough of Greymouth; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of the said Borough of Greymouth and along a right line being the production of the last-mentioned borough boundary to the middle of the Grey River; thence generally easterly along the middle of the Grey River to the western boundary of the Borough of Brunner; thence southerly, easterly, and northerly along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of the said Borough of Brunner to the middle of the Grey River; thence generally north-easterly along the middle of the Grey River to the boundary of the County of Grey at the confluence of the Grey and Otututu Rivers; thence generally easterly, south-westerly, westerly, and north-westerly along the boundary of the said County of Grey to the point of commencement.
SOUTH RIDING
All that area in the County of Grey, Westland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Taramakau River in Block XII, Waimea Survey District, on the southern side of the Kumara–Haupiri Junction Main Highway No. 624, such point being on the boundary of the County of Grey; thence generally northerly along the boundary of the said County of Grey to the south-western extremity of the Borough of Greymouth; thence south-easterly and north-easterly along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said Borough of Greymouth to the northernmost corner of Reserve 1788; thence generally easterly, southerly, and westerly along the hereinbefore described boundary of the East Riding to the point of commencement.
