Special Order Made by Manukau County Council Altering Riding Boundaries

PURSUANT to section 100 of the Counties Act 1920, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act 1921–22, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Manukau County Council, and fixes the 1st day of October 1956 as the date on which the said special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER
THE Manukau County Council at a duly constituted special meeting held in the County Chambers, 1 Princes Street, Auckland, on the 12th day of March 1956, passed the following resolution:
“That, pursuant to sections 23 and 100 (1) of the Counties Act 1920, the Manukau County Council hereby resolves by way of special order that an alteration be made to the Papatoetoe and Papakura Riding boundaries of the County of Manukau as from the 1st day of October 1956, as follows:
“That the description of the boundaries of the Papatoetoe Riding be amended to read as under:
“PAPATOETOE RIDING
“ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the left bank of the Pakuranga Creek and the right bank of the Tamaki River, in Block VI, Otahuhu Survey District, and running easterly generally up the left bank of the Pakuranga Creek aforesaid, to a point in Block VII, Otahuhu Survey District, in line with the southern boundary of Allotment 94, Pakuranga Parish; thence along a right line to and along that southern boundary, and along another right line being the said southern boundary produced to the middle of Botany Road; thence along the middle of Botany Road aforesaid, to and along the middle of the public road forming the southern boundary of Allotment 96 of the said parish, to and along the middle of the Papatoetoe–Howick Main Highway, to a point in line with the southern boundary of Allotment 116 of the said parish; thence along a right line to and along that southern boundary, and along a right line across a public road to and along the southern boundary of Allotment 235 of the said parish, and along another right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Maungamaungaroa Creek; thence southerly generally up the middle of that creek to and along the north-eastern side of the public road forming the south-western boundaries of Allotments 267, 272, and 274 of the said parish, to and along the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned allotment, to and along the southern boundary of Allotment 117, Pakuranga Parish aforesaid, to the public road forming the northern boundary of Lot 7 on D.P. 4431, being part of Allotment 131 of the said parish; thence westerly along the northern side of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of the aforesaid Lot 7, and again southerly along a right line to and along that south-western boundary, and the south-western boundary of Lot 8 on D.P. 4431 aforesaid, being parts of the said Allotment 131 and of Allotment 132 of the said parish, to and along the north-western and western boundaries of Allotment 178, the western boundary of Allotment 177, and the northern, western, and southern boundaries of Allotment 138, the aforesaid Allotments all being of Pakuranga Parish aforesaid, to and along the western boundaries of Allotment 153 and 96, and the northern and western boundaries of Allotment 95, the said Allotments being of the Parish of Manurewa, to the north-eastern boundary of the part of Clendon’s Grant situated in Block XII, Otahuhu Survey District, and shown on D.P. 515; thence westerly generally along that last-mentioned north-eastern boundary, along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of the part Clendon’s Grant comprised in certificate of title, Volume 774, folio 67, and along the southern side of the public road forming the southern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 16511, to and along the south-eastern and southern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 28732, the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 3, D.P. 41583, the southern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 41583, aforesaid, and the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 16511, to and along the northern boundaries of part Lot 2, D.P. 3825, of part Lot 2 and of Lot 1, both on D.P. 23951, crossing the intervening public road, to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 5 and 4, D.P. 31549, the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 3, D.P. 22977, and along the generally northern and south-western boundaries of the last-mentioned Lot 4, the aforesaid lots all being parts of Clendon’s Grant aforesaid, to the middle of Orams Road; thence along the middle of that road, to and along the northern and western boundaries of the Borough of Manurewa as described in Gazette, No. 80, of the 22nd day of December 1954, page 2082, to and along the middle of Browns Road to the line of mean high-water (spring tide) along the left bank of the Puhinui Creek; thence generally north-westerly and then north-easterly along the line of mean high-water (spring tide) along the banks of the Puhinui Creek, the eastern shores of the Manukau Harbour, and the left banks of the Pukaki and the Waokauri Creeks, to a point in Block X, Otahuhu Survey District, in line with the eastern side of the public road forming the eastern boundary of Allotment 52, Parish of Manurewa aforesaid; thence along a right line to and along that eastern side, along the south-eastern sides of the public road forming the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 56, Manurewa Parish aforesaid, and along the southern and south-eastern sides of Portage Road, to and along the south-western, south-eastern, north-eastern, and northern boundaries of the Borough of Papatoetoe as described in Gazette, No. 51, of the 3rd day of August 1950, page 1536, to and north-easterly along the north-western side of Portage Road, and the boundary of the County of Manukau as described in Gazette, No. 80 aforesaid, to the point of commencement.
“That the description of the boundaries of the Papakura Riding be amended to read as under:
“PAPAKURA RIDING
“All that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the line of mean high-water (spring tide) along the left bank of the Puhinui Creek in Block XIII, Otahuhu Survey District, in the middle of Brown’s Road, and running north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of the Papatoetoe Riding as hereinbefore described, to and along the south-western, eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of the Borough of Manurewa as described in Gazette, No. 80, of the 22nd day of December 1954, page 2082, to and again along the south-eastern boundary of the Papatoetoe Riding aforesaid, to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of Allotment 153, Parish of Manurewa, the southern boundary of Allotment 178, and the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments 131 and 132 of the Parish of Pakuranga, crossing the Howick–Manurewa Main Highway, along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Allotment 33 of the Parish of Maraetai, to and along the southern boundaries of Allotment 55, and a right line across a public road to and along the north-western side of the public road forming the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 57, to a point in line with the southern boundary of Allotment 63, the aforesaid allotments being of the Parish of Maraetai aforesaid; thence along a right line across that public road to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of the said Allotment 63, the eastern boundary of Allotment 61, the abutment of a public road, and the eastern boundaries of Allotments 64 and 71, all of Maraetai Parish aforesaid, to and along the southern boundary of Allotment 81, Parish of Wairoa, to the southernmost corner of that last-mentioned allotment; thence southerly generally along the north-western boundary of Allotment 78, and a right line being that boundary produced to the southern side of the public road forming the northern boundary of Allotment 79; thence along that southern side, to and along the north-western boundary of Allotment 47, the northern and north-western boundaries of Allotment 51, and the north-eastern side of the public road forming the south-western boundary of Allotment 50, to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Allotment 54; thence along a right line across that last-mentioned road, to and along the north-western boundary of the said Allotment 54, part of which is now included in Allotment 83, along the northern and western boundaries of Allotment 59, crossing the Brookby–Clevedon Road and along the northern boundary of Allotment 24, to and along the north-western boundaries of Allotments 75 and 73, crossing West Road, along the south-western boundary of the said Allotment 73, the abutment of a public road, and the south-western boundary of Allotment 74, to and along the northern and western boundaries of Lot 2 on D.P. 40658, being part Allotment 29, and along a right line across a public road to and along the western boundary of Lot 1 on D.P. 40658 aforesaid, being part of the said Allotment 29, to and along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Allotment 40, and the south-western boundary of Allotment 39, the aforesaid allotments being of the Parish of Wairoa aforesaid, and along a right line being that last-mentioned boundary produced to the south-eastern side of the Clevedon–Takaini Road; thence south-westerly along that south-eastern side, to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 3 on D.P. 292, being part Allotment 61, Papakura Parish, situated in Block XV, Otahuhu Survey District, to and along the north-western boundary of the part Allotment 50, Papakura Parish aforesaid, shown on D.P. 22524, and along a right line across Mullins Road to and again along the south-eastern side of the Clevedon–Takaini Road, to and along the south-western side of Cosgraves Road, to and along the northern boundary of the Borough of Papakura as described in Gazette, No. 19, of the 17th day of March 1938, page 470, to the line of mean high-water (spring tide) along the shores of the Pahurehure Inlet of the Manukau Harbour; thence north-westerly generally along that line of mean high-water, and the line of mean high-water (spring tide) along the left bank of the Puhinui Creek, to the point of commencement.”
