A PROCLAMATION

Pursuant to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road decribed in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 12 acres 1 rood 36·2 perches.

Adjoining or passing through Rural Sections 36112, 36399, 36400, 36401, 36402, 36403, 36404, 36405, and 36507.

Situated in Block VIII, Shepherds Bush Survey District, and Blocks V and IX, Westerfield Survey District, Canterbury R.D. (S.O. 8998.)

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 150849 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 16th day of July 1956.

Crown Land Set Apart for Railway Purposes at Westport

A PROCLAMATION

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for railway purposes; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 23rd day of July 1956.

Taking Land for Public Purposes at Niue, Cook Islands

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 11th day of July 1956

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council

Pursuant to section 357 of the Cook Islands Act 1915, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby takes the land described in the Schedule hereto for the following public purpose, namely, water supply.

SCHEDULE

All the parcel of land situated in the District of Alofi in the Island of Niue, Cook Islands, containing 1 acre and 37 perches, more or less, being the whole of the land known as part Vaiola Section 58, Alofi District, and being all the land comprised in an order of the Native Land Court made on the 29th day of June 1950 on investigation of title; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan signed by the Resident Commissioner of Niue and deposited in the office of the Registrar, Native Land Court, Niue, under No. 41.

Authorising the Borrowing by the Hutt Valley Drainage Board
by Way of Hypothecation of Debentures Issued in Respect
of a Loan of £850,000

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 11th day of July 1956

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council

Whereas by Order in Council made on the 11th day of July 1956 consent was given to the raising in New Zealand by the Hutt Valley Drainage Board (hereinafter called the said local authority) of the sum of ten thousand pounds (hereinafter called the said sum), being portion of a loan of eight hundred and fifty thousand pounds known as “Sewage Disposal Loan 1954”:

And whereas the said local authority, pending the raising of the said sum, is desirous of borrowing the said sum or part thereof by hypothecation or mortgage, pursuant to section 34 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, of the debentures authorised to be issued in respect of the said sum:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 7 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act 1932–33 and section 8 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Amendment Act 1933, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the said local authority, pending the raising of the said sum in accordance with the determinations of the Local Government Loans Board, borrowing the said sum or any part thereof by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures for a term not exceeding two years and at a rate of interest not exceeding four and three-quarters per cent per annum.

Pursuant to the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
