Notice of Members’ Voluntary Winding-up Resolution
NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to section 222 of
the Companies Act 1933, at an extraordinary general
meeting of the above-named company, duly convened and
held on the 28th day of May 1956, the following special
resolution was duly passed:
“That the company be wound up voluntarily and that J.
Haisman, of Wellington, Public Accountant, be and is hereby
appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.”

Members’ Voluntary Winding Up
NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to section 221 (b)
of the Companies Act 1933, the above-named company,
on the 31st day of May 1956, duly passed a special resolution
as follows:
“(1) That the company be wound up voluntarily.
“(2) That Mr Leslie Neilson Harris, of Auckland, Public
Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator of this
company.”

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amend-
ments, and in the matter of the Municipal Corporations
Act 1954, and in the matter of the Lower Hutt Borough
Empowering Act 1927.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Lower Hutt City Council
proposes by virtue of the above-mentioned Acts and of
all other Acts and powers it thereunto enabling, to execute
a public work, to wit, the construction of a new street off
Waiwhetu Road in the City of Lower Hutt and the extension
of Riverside Drive North in the said city, and for the pur-
poses of such public work the Council requires to take the
land more particularly described in the Schedules hereto
for street and in connection with street extension; and
notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said pieces
of land so required to be taken is deposited at the offices
of the Council situate at the corner of Laings Road and
High Street in the City of Lower Hutt and is there open
for inspection; and notice is hereby further given that all
persons affected by the execution of the said public work or
by the taking of the said pieces of land should if they have
any well grounded objection to the execution of the said
public work or to the taking of the said pieces of land, set
forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within
forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to
the Lower Hutt City Council at its offices situated as
aforesaid.
FIRST SCHEDULE
Land for Street
(a) All that piece of land situate in the City of Lower
Hutt containing 1 rood 37·97 perches, more or less, part of
Subdivision 6B of Section 36 of the Hutt District; shown
coloured blue on Survey Office Plan No. 23495.
(b) All that piece of land situate as aforesaid containing
35 perches, more or less, being part of Subdivision 6B of
Section 36 of the Hutt District; shown coloured blue on
Survey Office Plan No. 23495.
Situated in Block IX, Belmont Survey District.
SECOND SCHEDULE
Land Required to be Taken in Connection with Street
Extension
(c) All that piece of land situate as aforesaid containing
2 acres 1 rood 31·06 perches, more or less, being part of
Subdivision 6B of Section 36 of the Hutt District; shown
coloured orange on the Survey Office Plan No. 23495.
(d) All that piece of land situate as aforesaid containing
1 rood 21·66 perches, more or less, being part of Subdivision
6B of Section 36 of the Hutt District; shown coloured sepia
on Survey Office Plan No. 23495.

CHANGE OF NAME OF COMPANY
NOTICE is hereby given that “Brooks & Tollison Limited”
has changed its name to “P. W. Brooks Limited”, and
that the new name was this day entered on my Register of
Companies in place of the former name.

CERTIFIED COPY OF RESOLUTION RESOLVING TO STRIKE SPECIAL
RATE AS SECURITY FOR THE SUM OF £200,000 DEEMED TO
HAVE BEEN LENT TO COUNCIL BY THE CROWN, PASSED AT A
MEETING OF THE AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL HELD ON THE
28TH DAY OF MAY 1956
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954,
section 79 of the Local Legislation Act 1927, section 23 of the
Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Act 1955, the Local
Government Loans Act 1926 and amendments, the Local
Government Loans Board Act 1926 and regulations there-
under, and all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland
City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other
charges on a loan of two hundred thousand pounds (£200,000)
deemed to have been lent to the Auckland City Council by
the Crown pursuant to section 79 of the Local Legislation Act
1927 and section 23 of the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal
Act 1955, the Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of seven-fifteenths of one penny (7/15d.) in the
pound (£) upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the
annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Auck-
land; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recur-
ring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable
yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during
the currency of the said loan or until the loan is fully paid
off.”

THE AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL HELD ON THE 28TH DAY OF
MAY 1956
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and
amendments, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Local
Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act 1951, the Local Government
Loans Board Act 1926 and regulations thereunder, and of all
other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council
hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other
charges on a loan of £111,500 to be known as the ‘Drainage
Loan 1955’, which amount is proposed to be raised by the
Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for
the purpose of constructing drainage works for the disposal
of surface drainage from the Remuera and Ellerslie watershed
areas, and the cost of raising the loan, the said Auckland City
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-
sixteenths of one penny (5/16d.) in the pound (£) upon the
annual rateable value (upon the basis of the annual value)
of all rateable property in the City of Auckland; and that the
said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st
day of June in each and every year during the currency of the
said loan or until the loan is fully paid off.”
