ASHBURTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, the Ashburton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a special loan of £15,000 authorised to be raised by the Ashburton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts and for the purpose of completing drainage work, the Ashburton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of £0·001519 in the pound upon all the ratable property in the Borough of Ashburton on the basis of unimproved value; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Locality of dam: Situated on a terrace on Lot 3 on Plan 7322, Leaning Rock Survey District, owned by Vincent Charles Woodhouse. The dam is constructed of reinforced concrete and has been used by the applicant for a considerable period and provides a pressure supply of water for the applicant’s home.
Particulars of dam: Length of dam wall, 12 ft. by 12 ft. Dam is a square concrete structure. Total length of wall, 48 ft.; greatest height of same, 4 ft.; breadth of same at base, 6 in. concrete wall, 4 in. on top of wall. Length and width of water area, 12 ft. by 12 ft.; capacity, 3,000 gallons of water. Estimated time and cost of construction, already.
Proposed term of licence: Twenty-one years.
Purpose for which water is to be stored: Conserving water for domestic and irrigation purposes.
