PURSUANT to section 241 of the Companies Act 1933, notice is hereby given that a meeting of the shareholders of the above-named company will be held at 610 Windsor House, Queen Street, Auckland, on Friday, the 27th day of April 1956, at 2 p.m., for the purpose of laying before the meeting an account of the winding up.

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 222 of the Companies Act 1933, that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 19th day of March 1956 the following extraordinary resolutions were duly passed:

(a) That the company by reason of its liabilities cannot continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up.

(b) That a meeting of creditors be called so that the affairs of the company may be laid before them.

THE liquidator of Hyde Manufacturing Company Limited, which is being wound up voluntarily, doth hereby fix the 30th day of April 1956 as the day on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to establish any title they may have to priority under section 258 of the Act, or to be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved, or, as the case may be, from objecting to such distribution.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 25th day of March 1956 presented to the said Court by William Leslie, of Duke Street, Levin, Truck Driver, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Wellington on Friday, the 27th day of April 1956, at ten o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of the hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN accordance with the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Whangarei Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £66,400, authorised to be raised by the Whangarei Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of realigning streets and constructing bridges within the Borough, the said Whangarei Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·3194d. in the pound upon the ratable value of all ratable property in the Borough of Whangarei and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 30th day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is paid off, and the said Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge the said special rate as security for the said loan.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR HOUSING PURPOSES

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments, and in the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and in the matter of the Palmerston North Insurance Funds Act 1955.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Palmerston North City Council intends to take, under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, for housing purposes, the land described in the Schedule hereto; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said land is deposited at the public office of the Palmerston North City Council and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such land should, if they have well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk of the Palmerston North City Council.
