A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 5 acres 1 rood 22 perches.

Adjoining or passing through Section 91, Block XI, Wairio Survey District, and Sections 8, 9, 10, and 11, Block VI, and Sections 1, 2, 3, and 6, Block VII, Town of Wreys Bush. Situated in the Town of Wreys Bush, Southland R.D. (S.O. 6290.)

In the Southland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 149822 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 26th day of March 1956.

Revoking Part of a Proclamation Defining the Middle Line of a Portion of a Deviation of the Wellington–Paekakariki Centennial Main Highway

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Proclamation dated the 9th day of October 1945, published in Gazette, 11 October 1945, Vol. III, page 1264, and deposited in the Land Registry Office at Wellington as No. 3605, defining the middle line of a portion of a deviation of the Wellington–Paekakariki Centennial Main Highway in so far as it affects the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land affected: 22 acres 1 rood 10·5 perches.

Being part Section 48, Porirua District, situated in Block VII, Belmont Survey District. Balance certificate of title, Volume 502, folio 150, Wellington Land Registry.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 26th day of March 1956.

Time for Taking Census

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by section 21 of the Statistics Act 1955 it is enacted that the census of the population of New Zealand shall be taken in the year 1956 and in every fifth year thereafter, and that the day on which the census shall be taken and the time with reference to which the particulars shall relate shall be appointed by the Governor-General by Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and appoint Wednesday, the 18th day of April 1956 as the day on which the census shall be taken, and midnight between Tuesday, the 17th day of April 1956 and Wednesday, the 18th day of April 1956 as the time with reference to which the particulars shall relate.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for railway purposes; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 3rd day of April 1956.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of Crown land set apart: 1 rood 0·1 perch.

Being Lot 13, D.P. 19404, being part Fairburns Old Land Claim 269A.

Situated in Block VI, Otahuhu Survey District, Manukau County, North Auckland Land District.

Being Lots 29 and 30, D.P. 6904, Block V, Ohura Survey District, being formerly part certificate of title, Volume 118, folio 19, Taranaki Registry.

Situated in the Town District of Ohura.

Defining the Middle-line of the Wellington–Napier (Breakwater Branch) Railway

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the Wellington–Napier (Breakwater Branch) Railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

COMMENCING at a point in the Ahuriri Station Yard marked 1 mile 63 chains on the existing railway between Napier and Ahuriri; thence proceeding generally in an easterly direction for a distance of 1 mile 60 chains and passing in, into, through, or over portions of railway land in Transmission No. 100516 (Gazette 1951, page 1184) and Proclamation 99506 (Gazette 1951, page 1173), part Ahuriri Lagoon (C.T. H.B. 123/104), portions T.S. 664 Napier (C.T. H.B. 80/196 Ltd.), part Lot 7 (C.T. H.B. 117/52 Ltd.) of D.P. 6634; all in the City of Napier and terminating at a point on the extension easterly of the boundary line between Napier Suburban Sections 82 and 83; including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, streets, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, watercourses, and sea bed.

All in the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same are delineated on the plan marked L.O. 13963 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Railways Commission at Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 21st day of March 1956.
