Town and Country Planning Act 1953—County of Stratford

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that pursuant to section 20 (1) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 approval has been granted to the Stratford County Council to prepare, recommend, and approve its district scheme by sections as follows:

(1) The Rural Section (being the major part of the county) described in the First Schedule hereto.

(2) The Extra-Urban Section (being the area adjacent to Stratford Borough) described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

STRATFORD COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME, RURAL SECTION

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded on the north by Clifton County as described in Gazette 1939, page 1536, from the south-eastern corner of Section 6, Block X, Upper Waitara Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 2, Block XVI, Upper Waitara Survey District; thence southerly generally along the western boundaries generally of Sections 2 and 1 (Forest Reserve), Block XVI, and Section 9, Block XV, Upper Waitara Survey District, to the Tirangi Road; thence south-easterly along the northern side of that road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 11, Block XV aforesaid; thence to and along that boundary and the south-western boundary of the said Section 11 to the confiscation line; thence south-westerly along the confiscation line to the Te Wera closed road; thence along the Te Wera closed road to the Mohakau Road; thence along the southern side of the Mohakau Road to the western boundary line of Section 10, Block X, Ngatimaru Survey District; thence southerly generally along the western boundaries of Sections 10 and 15, Block X, Ngatimaru Survey District, to the southern boundary of Block X aforesaid; thence easterly along that boundary to the western side of the Ohura Road; thence along the Ohura Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Strathmore Township; thence to and along that boundary to the south-western corner of Section 12, Block XIV, Ngatimaru Survey District; thence along the south-western boundaries of the said Section 12, the south-western boundaries of Sections 9, 8, 7, and 6, Block XV, Ngatimaru Survey District, and the south-western and southern boundaries of Section 16, Block XV aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of Section 15; thence along the western and southern boundaries of Block XVI, Ngatimaru Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of Section 21; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 20 and 19, Block XIII, Mahoe Survey District, to the south-western boundary of the Pahautuhia Block; thence south-easterly along that boundary to trig. station, Mount Humphries; thence along the western watershed of the Wanganui River to a point in line with the southern boundary line of Block VII, Taurakawa Survey District; thence along a right line running due west to Koane Road; thence by the said Koane Road to Section No. 17, Block XII, Omona Survey District; thence by that section to Moeawatea Road; thence by Moeawatea Road to a point in line with the northern boundary line of Section No. 3, Block VIII, Omona Survey District; thence across the Moeawatea Road and by the northern boundary lines of Sections 3, 4, and 1, Block VIII aforesaid, across the Karewa Road, and by the northern boundary lines of Sections 21, 4, and 1, Block VII, Omona Survey District, to Waitiri Road; thence along Waitiri Road to the south-western corner of Section No. 14, Block VII aforesaid; thence by the western boundary of that section and the southern boundary of Section No. 8, Block II, Omona Survey District, to the westernmost corner of Subsection I of Subdivision 1 of Matemateonga Block; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of Subsections 1 and 6 of Subdivision 1 aforesaid and the eastern and southern boundaries of Subsection No. 7 to the Patea River; thence along the Patea River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 11, Block VIII, Ngaere Survey District; thence to and by that section and by Block XII to Trig. Station B, Rahui, by Subdivision 15, Pukengahu Block, to the eastern corner of the northern part of that subdivision of 23 acres 1 rood 8 perches; thence by the southern boundary of the said northern part and by the said Subdivision 15 to the Pukengahu Road, by that road to a point due west of Trig. Station B, Rahui; thence by a line running due west to the north-western boundary of Subdivision 13, Pukengahu Block, and by that subdivision to the northern boundary of Block XI, Ngaere Survey District; by that block to the northernmost corner of Section 35, and by that section to Oru Road, by that road and by Ngaere Road to its junction with Karepo Road, by Karepo Road, to and by the northern boundary of Block X, Ngaere Survey District, to the middle of Waingongoro River; thence by a line along the middle of that river to the middle of Finnerty Road; thence by a line along the middle of Finnerty Road to Hastings Road; thence by a line along the middle of Hastings Road to a point opposite the northern boundary of Section No. 32, Block VIII, Kaupokonui Survey District; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of that section; thence by Sections 32 and 31, Block VIII aforesaid, to Duthie Road, across that road, and by Section 29, said Block VIII, and the production of the northern boundary of that section to the middle of Palmer Road; thence by a line along the middle of that road to the north-eastern corner of Block XI, Kaupokonui Survey District; thence by Blocks XI and X to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 1, Block VI, Kaupokonui Survey District; thence by the eastern boundary of that section to Opunake Road, and by the southern side of that road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 16, Block VI aforesaid; thence across Opunake Road and by Sections 16, 13, and 11, Block VI aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line to the summit of Mount Egmont; thence by a right line to the intersection of the west side of Forest Road and the Waipuku Stream; thence by a line down the middle of the Waipuku Stream to its confluence with the Manganui Stream; thence up the Manganui Stream to the northern boundary of Block IX, Huiroa Survey District; thence by the northern and eastern boundaries of Block IX aforesaid to Croydon Road; thence along the northern side of Croydon Road to the south-eastern corner of Section 11, Block X, Huiroa Survey District; thence by the eastern boundary of Section 11 and the southern boundary of Section 14, Block X aforesaid, to the western side of the Mangaotea Road; thence along the western side of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 20, Block X aforesaid; thence to and along the southern boundary of said Section 20 and the western and southern boundaries of Section 26 to Makara Road; thence along the western side of Makara Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 28; thence to and along that boundary to the eastern boundary line of Block X aforesaid; thence along that boundary line to the middle of the Makino Stream; thence along the middle of that stream to the eastern boundary of Section 5, Block XI, Huiroa Survey District; thence along the eastern boundary of said Section 5 to the Makara Road; thence along the middle of Makara and Mana Roads to the northern boundary of Block XI, Huiroa Survey District; thence along the northern boundaries of Blocks XI and XII, Huiroa Survey District, to the middle of the Makino Stream; thence down the middle of the Makino Stream to the Waitara River; thence along the middle of the Waitara River to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 9, Block VIII, Huiroa Survey District; thence to and along the western and northern boundaries of Sections 9 and 13, Block VIII, Huiroa Survey District, the eastern boundaries of Section 2, Block I, Ngatimaru Survey District, to Pita Road; thence across that road, and easterly generally along its northern boundary to the westernmost corner of Section 14, Block I, Ngatimaru Survey District; thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 14 and 13, Block I aforesaid, to the Waitara River; thence to and up the middle of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 1, Block X, Upper Waitara Survey District; thence to and along that boundary to the south-eastern corner of Section 6, Block X, Upper Waitara Survey District, the point of commencement, excluding therefrom the Borough of Stratford and the Extra-Urban Section hereinafter described.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District situated in the Stratford County bounded as follows: Commencing at a point being the intersection of the middle of the Cardiff and Monmouth Roads at Section 64, Manganui District (Block I, Ngaere Survey District), and proceeding north-easterly along the middle of the said Monmouth Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 57, Manganui District; thence to and northerly along the western boundary of the said Section 57, to and generally easterly along the Kaihouri Stream to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 121, Manganui District; thence to and northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of the said Section 121, to and northerly along the middle of Mountain Road to the Piakau Stream; thence easterly along the Piakau Stream to and northerly along the eastern boundary of Block XIII, Huiroa Survey District, to the middle of Beaconsfield Road; thence generally easterly and southerly along the middle of Beaconsfield Road to the middle of Ohura Road, and generally westerly along the middle of Ohura Road to the eastern boundary of Section 110, Block II, Ngaere Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section 110 to and across and up the Patea River to the eastern boundary of Section 121, Block II, Ngaere Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section 121 to the Railway Reserve; thence westerly along the northern side of the Railway Reserve to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 119, Block II, Ngaere Survey District; thence to and southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 119, 117, and 116, Block II, Ngaere Survey District, to the middle of Bird Road; thence easterly along the middle of Bird Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section II, Block VI, Ngaere Survey District; thence to and southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section 11; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Sections 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, and 3, Block VI, Ngaere Survey District, to and across the Railway Reserve to the middle of Mountain Road; thence southerly along the middle of Mountain Road to and westerly along the middle of Climie Road to the eastern boundary of Section 7, Block V, Ngaere Survey District; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 7, 8, and 9, and westerly along the southern boundary of Section 10, all of Block V, Ngaere Survey District, to and across Brookes Road; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of Section 3, Block V, Ngaere Survey District, to and westerly along the northern boundary of Block V, Ngaere Survey District, to the middle of Climie Road; thence along the middle of Climie Road to and generally northerly along the middle of Cardiff Road to the point of commencement, save and except therefrom the Borough of Stratford as defined by Gazette, 28 July 1898, page 1192.
