Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the public work for which it was acquired.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land directed to be sold: 6 acres.

Railway land being Reserve 3830.

Situated in Block V, Rangiora Survey District, Rangiora County.

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked I.O. 13810 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Railways Commission at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Setting Apart Maori Land as a Maori Reservation

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a place of historical interest and a recreation ground for the common use of the Maori people of New Zealand.

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes the Order in Council of the 30th day of September 1953, and published in the Gazette of the 8th day of October 1953, at page 1620, licensing Arthur Charles Dawson to use and occupy parts of the bed at Lake Wakatipu.

Licensing Horace Tomkies to Use and Occupy a Part of the Bed of the Lake at Queenstown Bay, Lake Wakatipu, as a Site for a Jetty

At the Government House at Wellington this 30th day of November 1955

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby licenses and permits Horace Tomkies, of Queenstown (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include his executors, administrators, or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the bed of the lake at Queenstown Bay, Lake Wakatipu, as shown on plan marked M.D. 7691, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining a jetty as shown on the said plan as marked on the said plan as "Kelvin", such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

  2. The premium payable by the licensee shall be two pounds (£2) and the annual sum so payable shall be five pounds (£5).

  3. The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st day of November 1955.
