Revoking Declaration of Main Highway and Declaring Portions of Public Highway to be Main Highway

Pursuant to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

1. (1) The public highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highway.

(2) The Order in Council made on the 16th day of December 1935,* declaring (inter alia) the said highway to be a main highway, is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said highway.

2. The portions of public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

3. This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 17

All that public highway declared as the Gladstone Main Highway as described in Order in Council dated the 16th day of December 1935.*

SECOND SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 17

GLADSTONE: All that public highway in the County of Taieri commencing at its junction with the Dunedin–Dukes Road Railway Station Main Highway at the north-western corner of Section 12, Block XIII, East Taieri Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction, but excluding that portion in the Borough of Mosgiel, to the north-western corner of Section 19, Irregular Block, East Taieri Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction and terminating at its junction with the Dunedin-Gore State Highway at the south-western corner of the said Section 19, being a distance of 5 miles 2 chains, more or less, as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 147027 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured black and green.

Also all that portion of public highway in the Borough of Mosgiel commencing at the eastern boundary of the said Borough and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction and terminating at the western boundary of the said Borough, being a distance of 45 chains, more or less, as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 147027 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured black.

Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway

Pursuant to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

1. The public highway described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953, and shall be an extension of Janefield Main Highway as described in Order in Council dated the 12th day of May 1948.*

2. This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 17

All that public highway in the County of Taieri commencing at the south-western corner of Section 6, Block V, East Taieri Survey District, and proceeding thence in a north-westerly direction and terminating at the north-western corner of the said Section 6, being a distance of 37 chains, more or less, as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 147027 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured black.
