At the Government House at Wellington this 11th day of
October 1955
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the
Order in Council dated the 16th day of February 1954
and published in the N.Z. Gazette on the 25th day of
the same month, at page 285, authorizing Walter Henry
Rogers, of Market Cross, Karamea, County Foreman, to erect
and use certain electric lines, by adding to the Schedule
thereto the following new paragraph:
“Lines for the supply of electrical energy by the system
of supply hereinbefore described commencing from a pole
on the eastern side of Oparara Road adjacent to part Section
18, Block XIV aforesaid, and proceeding in a northerly
direction along Oparara Road to another pole and thence
in an easterly direction to a house situated in Section 1,
Block IX, Oparara Survey District, the said lines being
more particularly shown by means of a green line on the
plan marked S.H.D. 356 deposited in the office of the State
Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.”

Karamea, Farmer, to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines
in the County of Buller

October 1955
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, hereby further amends, as
set forth in the Schedule hereto, the Order in Council dated
the 13th day of October 1948 and published in the Gazette
on the 21st day of the same month, at page 1296, authorizing
Frank Herbert Wood, of Karamea, Theatre Proprietor and
Electrical Wireman, to erect and use certain electric lines in
the County of Buller, as amended by the Order in Council
dated the 1st day of October 1952 and published in the
Gazette on the 9th day of the same month, at page 1677,
the rights, powers, and privileges under the first-mentioned
Order in Council having been assigned by the said Frank
Herbert Wood to Leslie Harold Currie, of Karamea, Farmer.
SCHEDULE
THE following new paragraph is added at the end of the
Schedule thereto:
“Lines adapted for the distribution of electrical energy by
the system of supply prescribed in these presents within Block
XIV, Oparara Survey District, in the County of Buller,
commencing from the eastern boundary of the area described
in the preceding paragraph and proceeding in an easterly
direction along Umere Road to two houses situated in Section
16; thence easterly again along Umere Road to its inter-
section with an unnamed road; thence northerly generally
along the said unnamed road to two houses situated in
Section 76, the said lines being more particularly delineated
by red lines on the plan marked S.H.D. 353 deposited as
aforesaid.”

Authorizing Alfred John Barnett, of Avon Valley, Blenheim,
Sheepfarmer, to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines in the
County of Marlborough

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 11th day of
October 1955

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes Alfred
John Barnett, of Avon Valley, Blenheim, Sheepfarmer (here-
inafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions
hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use
the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by
the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical
Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall
form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may
be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance
by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935,
the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Inter-
ference Regulations 1934, and with all regulations hereafter
made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor
respectively.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph
(d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations
1935 and shall be an alternating current system.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined, this licence shall
continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1976, or until
electrical energy is available from an Electric Power Board
or some other public source of supply, whichever is the earlier.
SCHEDULE
LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the system of
supply hereinbefore described, commencing from the licensee’s
generator and proceeding in a south-westerly direction to a
house, and thence in a north-westerly direction across a public
road to a whare; all the said buildings being situated in Section
4, Block V, Hodder Survey District, in the County of Marl-
borough, and being more particularly shown on the plan
marked S.H.D. 357 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-
electric Department at Wellington.

Valuation Committee No. 1 and the Wellington Land Valua-
tion Committee No. 2.

Exempting Land in the Nelson Land District from the
Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

the Governor-General hereby gives the following notice:
NOTICE
THE land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted
from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land containing 2 roods, more or less, being
Section 1086 and part Section 1087, Town of Reefton, and
being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Volume 20,
folio 120, Nelson Registry.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
this 30th day of September 1955.

PURSUANT to the Naval Defence Act 1913, His Excellency
the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the
following appointments, promotions, and terminations of
appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy:
Captain J. E. H. McBeath, D.S.O., D.S.C., R.N., lent Royal
New Zealand Navy for duty as 1st Naval Member and Chief
of Naval Staff, New Zealand Naval Board, and appointed
I.L.M.N.Z.S. Maori, additional, for passage, to date 24 March
1955. (Granted acting rank of Rear Admiral while holding
this appointment.)
