Allocating Land Taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road; and that the said road shall be under the control of the Waimate County Council and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Avondale-Onehunga-Southdown Railway.

Consent to the Establishment and Maintenance of an Aerodrome by the Dannevirke Borough Council and the Dannevirke County Council

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Empowering (Aviation Encouragement) Act 1929, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Dannevirke Aerodrome Establishment Order 1955.

  2. Consent is hereby given to the establishment and maintenance by the Dannevirke Borough Council and the Dannevirke County Council of an aerodrome on that area of land described in the Schedule hereto and known as the Dannevirke Aerodrome.

  3. The Order in Council recognizing the Dannevirke Airport Association as an aviation authority and published in the Gazette of the 3rd day of December 1936, at page 2336, is hereby revoked in so far as it relates to the Dannevirke Airport Association, Dannevirke.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 8th day of August 1955

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 90 of the Education Act 1914, as amended by section 10 of the Education Amendment Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Murray’s Bay High School Board of Governors Order 1955.

  2. The constitution of the Board of Governors for the Murray’s Bay High School, prescribed by section 90 of the Education Act 1914, is hereby varied so that the school shall be controlled by a Board of Governors constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Auckland Education Board:

(b) Four members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school:

(c) One member appointed by the Governor-General:

(d) One member appointed by the East Coast Bays’ Borough Council:

(e) Two members elected by the members of the school committees of the Milford public school, the Campbell’s Bay public school, the Brown’s Bay public school, the Albany public school, the Coatesville public school, the Dairy Flat public school, and the Silverdale public school.

  1. The Minister of Education may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, amend the list of schools to which paragraph (e) of clause 2 of this order applies.

PURSUANT to the Exhibitions Act 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Wanganui Industrial Fair Order 1955.

  2. In this order, unless the context otherwise requires—

‘‘The Act’’ means the Exhibitions Act 1910:

‘‘The exhibition’’ means a public exhibition of works of industry and art, to be conducted by Wanganui Industrial Fairs Limited, a non-profit organization sponsored by the Wanganui Junior Chamber of Commerce Incorporated, at Messrs Wright Stephenson and Company Limited’s Wool Store, Nixon Street, Wanganui East, from the 24th day of August 1955 to the 3rd day of September 1955 (both inclusive) and to be known as the Wanganui Industrial Fair 1955.

  1. The exhibition is hereby authorized, and declared to be an exhibition within the meaning of the Act.
