RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Roading Loan 1955, £500,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“‘That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of five hundred thousand pounds (£500,000) authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reconstructing city streets, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-eight thousand eight hundred and fifty-one/fifty thousandths of a penny (28,851/50,000d.) in the pound (£0·00240425) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’”
The Christchurch City Council at a meeting held on the 18th day of July 1955 passed the above resolution.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Pensioners’ Cottages (Champion Street) Loan 1955, £25,400
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“‘That for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of twenty-five thousand four hundred pounds (£25,400) authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting pensioners’ cottages on land owned by the Council in Champion Street, and incidental works, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirteen thousand four hundred and seventy-three/six hundred and twenty-five thousandths of a penny (13,473/625,000d.) in the pound (£0·00008982) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’”
The Christchurch City Council at a meeting held on the 18th day of July 1955 passed the above resolution.

THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Queenstown Borough Council at its meeting held on the 4th day of July 1955 has resolved to prepare for the Queenstown Borough a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953. Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.
Proposals marked “Queenstown District Scheme” should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered at the Town Clerk’s office on or before the 30th day of September 1955.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
General Purposes Loan 1955 (£40,000)
IN pursuance of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Havelock North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and principal repayments and other charges on a loan of £40,000 authorized to be raised by the Havelock North Borough Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 for the purpose of water and sewer reticulation, storm-water drainage, and footpaths, the said council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1·55 pence in the pound (£) upon the rateable (unimproved) value of all rateable property in the Borough of Havelock North; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off; and the proceeds of such special rate are hereby appropriated for the repayment of the loan as aforesaid.’”
