Stopping Government Road in Block IV, Waitara Survey District, Clifton County

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as stopped the Government road described in the Schedule hereto, that road being no longer required.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of road hereby stopped:

0 2 12·2 Adjoining or passing through part Sections 36 and 37; coloured green.
0 0 14·2 Being road in Proclamation 1789, being formerly part Section 35; coloured red.

Situated in Block IV, Waitara Survey District, Taranaki R.D. (S.O. 7939.)

In the Taranaki Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 117579 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 21st day of July 1955.

Declaring That Section 11, Mental Health Amendment Act 1921–22, Shall Apply to the State of New South Wales

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by subsection (1) of section 10 of the Mental Health Amendment Act 1921–22 it is provided that the Governor-General, on being satisfied that the laws in force in any British possession (other than New Zealand) are such as to enable powers to be exercised in that possession in cases of lunatic patients residing in New Zealand substantially similar to the powers contained in section 11 of the said Act in cases of lunatic patients residing in that possession, may, by Proclamation approved in Executive Council, declare that the said section shall, subject to any exceptions and modifications mentioned in the Proclamation, apply to that possession, and thereupon while such Proclamation is in force the said section shall apply accordingly:

And whereas the Governor-General is satisfied that the laws in force in the State of New South Wales in the Commonwealth of Australia are such as to enable powers to be exercised in that State in cases of lunatic patients residing in New Zealand substantially similar to the powers contained in section 11 of the said Act:

Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (1) of section 10 of the said Act, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, with the approval of the Executive Council, hereby proclaim and declare that section 11 of the Mental Health Amendment Act 1921–22 shall apply to the State of New South Wales.

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Housing Amendment Act 1940, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the access ways described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Lower Hutt, and be under he control and management of the Lower Hutt City Council.

Varying a Condition as to Setting Back the Building Line of Portion of Terrace Street in the City of Palmerston North Imposed by Order in Council Under the Public Works Act 1928 and the Municipal Corporations Act 1933

At the Government House at Wellington this 27th day of July 1955

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order in Council, dated 22 May 1946, published in Gazette, 23 May 1946, Vol. II, page 697, and registered in the Land Registry Office at Wellington under No. 2026, authorizing the laying off of a street (Terrace Street) off Ruahine Street in the City of Palmerston North of a width less than 66 ft., but not less than 50 ft., subject to a condition as to the building line, by varying the condition as to the building line imposed by the said Order in Council so that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on Lot 1, D.P. 13299, being part Suburban Section 246, Township of Palmerston North, within a distance of 35 ft. from the centre line of the said street.

Varying a Condition as to Setting Back the Building Line of Portion of Lincoln Terrace in the City of Palmerston North, Imposed by Order in Council Under the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1943 and the Public Works Act 1928

At the Government House at Wellington this 27th day of July 1955

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order in Council dated 26 November 1952 and published in the Gazette, 27 November 1952, Volume III, page 1945, and registered in the Land Registry Office at Wellington under No. 2274, authorizing the laying off of a street off Te Awe Awe Street in the City of Palmerston North, subject to a condition as to the building line, by varying the condition as to the building line imposed by the said Order in Council so that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land shown edged green on the plan marked P.W.D. 138827, referred to in the said Order in Council, within a distance of 40 ft. from the centre line of the said street.
