and southerly generally along the northern and western boundaries of the said Kauana Rabbit District to the northern
boundary of the South Hillend Rabbit District, described in
the N.Z. Gazette 1951, page 868; thence south-westerly
generally, westerly generally, and northerly generally along
the northern boundary of the said South Hillend Rabbit
District to the left bank of the Aparima River; thence north-easterly generally along the left bank of the Aparima River to
its junction with the Hamilton Burn; thence north-easterly
along the left bank of the Hamilton Burn to a stream forming
the southern boundary of Section 131, Block IX, Taringatura
Survey District; thence north-easterly along the new channel
of the said stream intersecting the south-eastern corner of
Section 131 aforesaid, and the north-western corner of Section
316, Block IX aforesaid, and south-easterly along the aforesaid stream forming part of the south-eastern boundary of
Section 131 aforesaid, to and across a public road; thence
south-easterly generally along the northern side of the said

of Run 181A, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the
northern side of a public road forming the southern boundary
of Section 150, Block VI, Taringatura Survey District; thence
south-easterly generally along the northern side of the said
public road forming the southern boundary of Section 127,
Block X, Taringatura Survey District, Sections 59 and 128,
Block XI, Taringatura Survey District, and Section 24, Block
XVI, Taringatura Survey District, to its intersection with the
Dipton-Castlerock Main Highway; thence north-easterly along
the northern side of the said Dipton-Castlerock Main Highway
to its intersection with a public road through Lot 1 on plan
numbered 724, and deposited as aforesaid; thence easterly
along the northern side of the said public road to its intersection with another public road through the said Lot 1; thence
southerly along the eastern side of the said public road, and
that line produced across the Oreti River to the point of
commencement.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Wyndham Rabbit
    District Order 1955.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the
    date of its notification in the Gazette.

  2. The boundaries of the Wyndham Rabbit District, which
    was constituted by Order in Council on the 26th day of
    November 1941,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as
    from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the
    said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE WYNDHAM RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Southland and Clutha Counties, Southland Land District, containing by estimation 64,360 acres,
more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence
of the Mataura and Wyndham Rivers; thence northerly generally
along the left bank of the said Mataura River to the southern
boundary of the Town District of Wyndham, as described in
New Zealand Gazette No. 70 of 23 August 1882, page 1137;
thence easterly, north-easterly, and northerly along the boun-dary of the said Town District of Wyndham to the left bank of the Mimihau Stream; thence north-easterly generally along
the left bank of the said Mimihau Stream to its confluence
with the south branch thereof; thence south-easterly along the
left bank of the south branch of the said Mimihau Stream to the northern boundary of Block IX, Slopedown Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Block IX
aforesaid, and along the northern boundary of Block III,
Wyndham Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of
Section 28, Block III, Wyndham Survey District; thence
southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 28, 43, 52,
55, 41, 38, 42, 56, 57, 58, and 45, Block III, Wyndham Survey
District, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned
section; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 27 and 28, Block VII, Wyndham Survey
District, and Sections 4, 5, and 6, Block I, Mokoreta Survey
District, and easterly along the northern boundary of Section
22A, Block I, Mokoreta Survey District, to the north-eastern
corner of the said Section 22A; thence northerly and north-easterly generally along the western and north-western boundaries of Lot 7 on plan numbered 3410 and deposited in the
office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill, to the
southern boundary of Slopedown Survey District; thence
easterly along the southern boundary of the said Slopedown
Survey District to the western boundary of Lot 2 on plan
numbered 3410 and deposited as aforesaid; thence south-westerly and easterly generally along the western and southern
boundaries of Lots 2 and 3 on plans numbered 3410 and 3412,
and deposited as aforesaid, to the western boundary of Rimu
Survey District; thence southerly along the western boundary
of the said Rimu Survey District to the northern boundary of
Lot 6 on plan numbered 3411 and deposited as aforesaid;
thence north-westerly, south-westerly, and south-easterly generally along the northern, north-western, and southern boundaries of Lot 6 aforesaid, to the south-eastern corner thereof;
thence south-westerly and north-westerly generally along the
south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Run 161A,
Mokoreta Survey District, to the northern boundary of Block
X, Mokoreta Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Blocks X and IX, Mokoreta Survey District,
to the eastern boundary of Run 74 in Block IV, Mokoreta
Survey District; thence northerly and north-westerly along the
eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the said Run 74 to
the northernmost corner thereof; thence northerly and westerly
along the eastern and northern boundaries respectively of
Section 17, Block XI, Wyndham Survey District, to the
eastern boundary of Section 37A, Glenham Settlement, Block
XI, Wyndham Survey District; thence northerly, easterly, and
again northerly along the eastern, southern, and eastern boundaries respectively of the said Section 37A to and across the
Wyndham River; thence north-westerly generally along the
right bank of the said Wyndham River to and across the
Wyndham-Glenham Road; thence south-westerly along the
north-western side of the said Wyndham-Glenham Road and
that line produced to and across the Wyndham River; thence
south-westerly along the right bank of the said Wyndham
River to the point of commencement.

    1950,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the
    commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district
    shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE EYRE CREEK RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that land in the Southland Land District, Southland
County, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, containing
by estimation 94,650 acres, more or less, and bounded as
follows: Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Lot 13,
on plan numbered 1666 and deposited in the office of the
District Land Registrar at Invercargill; thence north-westerly
along the north-eastern boundary of the aforesaid Lot 13,
across the Kingston Branch Railway, again along the aforesaid
north-eastern boundary, across Diak Road, and again along
the aforesaid north-eastern boundary of Lot 13 and the north-eastern boundary of Lot 4 on the plan numbered 3996 and
deposited as aforesaid, to the Irthing Stream; thence northerly
generally along the left bank of the Irthing Stream to its
source; thence north-easterly by a right line to the south-western corner of Run 352B; thence north-westerly, north-easterly, and south-easterly generally along the south-western,
north-western, and north-eastern boundaries of Run 352B to
the Eyre Creek; thence northerly generally along the right
bank of the said Eyre Creek to the southernmost corner of
Run 527; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Runs 527 and 418 to the right bank of the Mataura
River; thence south-easterly and south-westerly generally along
the right bank of the said Mataura River to the north-eastern
corner of Run 394A; thence north-westerly, south-westerly,
and again north-westerly generally along the northern boundaries of Runs 394A and 191B, and the eastern and northern
boundaries of Section 42, Block XXXIX, Eyre Survey District,
to and across the Queenstown-Invercargill State Highway to
the western side thereof; thence south-westerly generally along
the western side of the said Queenstown-Invercargill State
Highway to the point of commencement.
