HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Mackenzie Rabbit District Order 1955.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
- The boundaries of the Mackenzie Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 23rd day of March 1949,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE MACKENZIE RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Ashburton, Mackenzie, and Waimate Counties of the Canterbury Land District, containing 537,600 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Waitaki River at the south-western corner of Run 68, and situated in Block V, Hewlings Survey District (the said point being on the boundary between the Waimate and Mackenzie Counties); thence proceeding northerly generally up the left bank of the Waitaki River to its junction with the left bank of the Tekapo River, thence along a right line across the mouth of the Tekapo River to the junction of the right bank of the Tekapo River with the left bank of the Pukaki River, thence up the right bank of the Tekapo River, to and along the western shore of Lake Tekapo, to and along the right bank of the Godley River to the terminal face of the Godley Glacier, thence north-easterly generally along the terminal face of the Godley Glacier and the south-east edge of that glacier, and continuing to the summit of the Two Thumb Range; thence southerly generally along the summit of that range, to and along the eastern boundary of Run 77A, and again along the summit of the Two Thumb Range to Mount Burgess, and along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 35007, and along the eastern boundary of that section to Burkes Pass Road; thence north-easterly along that road to Firewood Stream and continuing to the junction of that stream with the Opihi River; thence southerly generally to and along the watershed passing through Rural Sections 36085 and 36458, along the eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 36459 and 36460, passing through Rural Section 38102, and along the eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 36464 and 36465, to and along the road forming the western boundary of Rural Section 36091, in Block IX, Tengawai Survey District, to a point opposite the north-western corner of S.G.R. 51; thence south-westerly along a right line through S.G.R. 54 to a point on the north-eastern boundary of Part Rural Section 37501, distant 3965 links from the north-eastern corner of that section; thence along a right line bearing 254° 44′ through the said Part Rural Section 37501 to the Tengawai River; thence up that river and the Mackenzie Stream to Lockharts Stream, and up that stream in a southerly direction to its source; thence to and along the western boundaries of Section 1, Block IV, and Section 1, Block VIII, Mackenzie Survey District, to the Hakataramea River; thence down that river to Dalgety Stream, and up that stream to the western boundary of Block XII, Mackenzie Survey District; thence southerly along the boundary of that block to the road passing through Rural Section 30128; thence south-westerly along that road to the eastern boundary of Run 252, and continuing south-westerly along the eastern boundary of that Run to the rabbit-proof fence in Block III, Dalzell Survey District; thence north-westerly along that fence to the north-eastern corner of Run 70A on the summit of the Kirkliston Range; thence southerly and westerly generally along the rabbit-proof fence, being the eastern and southern boundaries of Run 70A and the southern boundary of Run 68 to the point of commencement.

At the Government House at Wellington this 22nd day of June 1955

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 and to section 29 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby constitutes and declares the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 30 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 applies, a rabbit district, and appoints that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Taringatura Rabbit District, and orders that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.

ALL that area of land in the Southland Land District, Southland and Wallace Counties, containing by estimation 98,300 acres, more or less, inclusive of roads and streams, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the left bank of the Oreti River, opposite the southernmost point of Lot 1 on plan numbered 724 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill, and in line with the eastern side of a public road passing through the said Lot 1; thence
